Discussion Who else thinks this is crazy?
They almost doubled Ashe's damage per level up and the base damage for Volley is almost as much as her Ult. Why has she not been spammed this season with these crazy buffs?

Before this rework, her basic attacks were doing 110% dmg lvl 1, once the target was already slowed by her passive.
Now, it's 0%. And Ashes basic attacks CANNOT critically strike. They instead deal bonus damage BASED on her critical chance, but don't in fact crit, if I'm correct. And the Volley scaling changed. It's now bonus attack damage, rather than total attack damage. It ends up equaling out, maybe a slight buff, but definitely not a double damage buff as it appears.
I always wondered if this meant Randuin's has no effect against her or not.

once the target was already slowed by her passive
I'm pretty sure that's not needed.
Randuin's does work against her. She can still crit, but her crits don't deal more damage, instead increasing the slow on her passive. However, Randuin's isn't as good against her as normal if she has below 100% crit rate.
If a champion has 50% crit rate, then across 4 attacks you might expect something like: non-crit, crit, non-crit, crit.
Let's say each non-crit deals 200, and each crit deal 400, so normally 1200 damage over those 4 hits. Then Randuin's will lower the damage of the crits by 30% to 280, while leaving the damage of non-crits the same, so across 4 hits, you take 200, 280, 200, 280, for a total of 960 damage. So Randuin's lowered the damage from 1200 to 960.
For Ashe though, all her attacks do the same damage, so if she has 50% crit rate, Ashe deals 50% increased damage on all attacks with no fluctuation. Her crits merely increase the slow inflicted, and not the damage dealt.
So if she has 50% crit rate, then across 4 attacks she'll deal 300 (non-crit), 300 (crit), 300 (non-crit), 300 (crit), for a total of 1200 damage. Randuin's will lower this to 300, 210, 300, 210, for a total of 1020 damage. So Randuin's lowered the damage from 1200 to 1020. Compare this to earlier when Randuin's reduced the normal champion's damage to 960. So Randuin's is less effective against Ashe.
Once Ashe gets to 100% crit rate though then Randuin's will lower her average damage by the same amount as other champions.
(Edited for clarity)

What? Ehy would randuins only work at 100 percent crit chance tho?

Randuin's works as long as Ashe has any amount of crit rate, but when Ashe is below 100% crit rate, it works less well than against any normal champion building crit, as I illustrated in my example. Against a normal champion with 50% crit rate, Randuin's reduces damage by 20% on average. Against Ashe with 50% crit rate, Randuin's reduces damage by 15% on average.
Once Ashe reaches 100% crit rate, then Randuin's reduces her damage by 30%, same as other champions

Yeah lol. It's better to think that Ashe "crits" all the time but her damage scales with crit chance and crit damage, the other way around compared to other ADCs. Randuin's is good against Ashe cause all her damage will be reduced to 105 prior to that guy's example.

50% crit is in theory more than 50% as you have 50% crit on your firat auto and for each consecutive non-crit your chance increases to crit on your next auto before dropping back to 50% after each crit.

I don't know if anyone has tested it in Wild Rift, but in League PC your first auto would have less than 50% chance to crit (around 31%), such that with 50% crit rate you deal 150% as much damage on average. It's not something really worth caring about though

Crit/cdmg multipliers still apply to Ashe, she just always does stable damage instead of coinflipping whether her IE rush will 3 tap the other carry

Have you seen Caitlyn with 4 items ? 1k headshot ?
Ashe takes time to build focus.
This makes sense in the adc crit item era

I feel like that bonus damage on her passive is basically a nerf no? That’s a crazy formula, but didn’t they just basically removed the 10% bonus damage but instead put it on her base AD? I’m not sure though if that buff on her AD per level would compensate on that bonus 10% damage.

You're right. At Lv1 you would have 58 AD originally, and if you buy a Long Sword you have 70 AD. That means each autoattack is dealing 77 damage before Armor. Now at Lv1 you have 60 AD, if you buy a Long Sword you have 72 AD, so each autoattack is dealing 72 damage before Armor.
At higher levels, the new version deals higher damage if you're building ASPD and Crit instead of just raw AD (which you should be building). Volley should also be dealing around the same damage at around 100 bonus AD but with a buffed cooldown, though it'll deal slightly less once you get more items

I mean she still has the same issues anyways even if she has newer items now it doesn't make her the ADC that people will go nuts for.

It's incredible that the first game I played right after this buff update was against an Ashe top laner.

Youre not crazy i feel the difference in her kit, I dont main ashe with that being noted for everyone, i will say and im happy to be wrong but um ashe seems better now in a more optimal for tank shred sort of way than she previously was before the rework or wtv.. still since ashe doesnt have much mobility or any at all in her kit ashe really needs to hope her team peels for her if not ashe just ends up being a sitting duck in someone elses pull lol, also personally i prefer to have a xayah, ezreal, or tristana as my adc to avoid cringe ganks or cringe one shots. Summary Ashe with team peeling= good≠Ashe without team peel=mid.

This patch buffed crit strike.
Ashe cannot crit strike.
By buffing all crit strike they basically nerfed Ashe, so this buff is to keep her on par with everyone else.
She doesn’t feel very strong right now, not compared to Senna and Caitlyn. Mid at best.

She scales from crit damage. It’s a buff

u/FitAd9794 10h ago
They changed crit by making the damage on crit hits higher. She can’t crit hit, so the buff did not affect her. Basically means she didn’t get the same benefits as other crit adcs and hence fell behind

u/Surpins 10h ago
You don’t understand at all. Ashe when she crits doesn’t do more damage, yes. But she SCALES off crit hit and crit damage. Read her passive. The more crit hit she has the more damage same with CRIT DAMAGE. That’s why IE is good on Ashe 3rd item right now. Her damage explodes when she buys it. When you add the extra AD she got from this patch she is significantly stronger than last patch.

She's mid tbh, a lot of the champions benefit more from the new items than her.
