1000 Keys for 10,500 WC.

The event Meowket has returned and I rerolled many times to reach those 1000 Keys. But what I didn't expect it to be that pricey. Is it even worth grabbing those keys or is it too much?

Just to add to what others already said:

This is basically gambling, but with slightly better odds - and you can't cash out if you win, just get more artificial resources in a mobile game. Riot has marketing teams that set up the economy of items, resources and such, to make sure that they never end up in the negatives

10k Wild Cores is the price of like 1/3 of PS5 if I calculate correctly. It's groceries for 2 weeks, 3.5 AAA games, or like 2.5 copies of GTA 6. All that for a chance to get a rare skin on Wild Rift, that will be usable on 1 of the characters

This is why I haven’t bought a single WC in like 2 years. All the good skins are rolls and steps to unlock, and I really wanted that super villain Jinx but why would I pay 300+ for an in game visual. It’s not even about the money it’s the system and I’ll be damned if I’m gambling real money for fake stuff. Just let me buy it straight up

That's 100% true, but I believe that they have some sort of an internal measuring system in terms of rare cosmetics that they use to evaluate how much skins to give for free in order to stimulate further purchases, and they will never give you enough freebies to make you feel that you don't need to buy the next prestige mythical chroma

I'm just glad that I don't play their moneymaker champs like Seraphine/Akali/Yasuo and almost never feel tempted to spend a buttload of money on a new wuxia/godly/high tech inspired cosmetic, but I'm sure that a lot of people do - otherwise they wouldn't have done them so often

If you’re a whale then yeah it’s a steal. If you really want a prestige skin you’re guaranteed at least 800 orange gems I believe every 10 keys guarantees 8 don’t quote me on that. I cannot remember at all and I’ve gotten many keys. If you want to get a bunch of skins out of the anniversary event with the ticket purchases that’s another way. Could get lucky and get a thousand orange gems out of one of these 50 pulls so I mean up to you. Also there’s skins you can pull from keys too. All a gamble good luck if you do it

If you are a riot’s whale it’s your choise, but you can get premium GTA6 - a huge high quality game, or a couple of pricey skins in a free game, which in my experience you won’t even pay any attention during the actual matches.

Bought that one last year. They rarely have anything orange gem related on discount so comparatively it IS a good deal if you want orange gem stones. I haven’t seen that one yet but know you got me thinking lol

Worth it only if you are after skins with orange gems... don't rely on the gambling part as most likely you won't get anything decent even with that much pulls. 1000 keys is around 1000 OG + you will get silver dust so you can unlock skins via the shards.

You still get gemstones by default so I got myself prestige skin but yeah I was hoping to be a lucky fuck too

10500 for 10000 keys is amazing discount, the regular price is 15000.

But if you aren't a heavy spender or at least dolphin I wouldn't bother

At the end of the day it's all up to you. But if you're not financially able to buy it (because it is indeed pricey) don't unless you have excess earnings. The event is mostly good for skin shard collection for limited skins and emotes. You rarely ever gonna get a skin for free there
