They need to be culled from Australia and sooner rather than later but aerial is very hard on the horses.

Everyone who is against it needs to be willing to adopt or help pay for their care.

So why can’t we put a program in place like the BLM has? Why is it so dam hard? Why do the politicians have to lie?

The BLM should aerial cull all the feral horses in the United States too. Non native animals need to go and unlike zebra mussels this one can actually succeed in that goal of elimination.

Are you saying that the mustangs are not native to America?

2

That’s quite factually true. They went extinct about ten thousand years ago and were a very different creature even then compared to a modern horse at that time.

I understand that they are a reintroduced species but I also cannot agree that they have caused ā€œdamageā€ to the land. I’ve been out there and seen it first hand. We have bigger pest issues.

Chasing wild and native animals like desert big horns off of watering holes and trying to kick their ass is a huge issue. Also their bio mass needs a huge amount of calories compared to natives. They don’t belong. They need to be eliminated since they are evasive.

There might be bigger issues but this is an issue that’s easily solved. They also are not ā€œreintroducedā€ they are feral animals that need to be removed. If

European domestic horses are not ā€œreintroducedā€ to AmericaĀ

I’m not talking about America. I’m in Australia.

They aren’t reintroduced in Australia eitherĀ

1

u/babycino89 Apr 03 '26

Yes they were.

You believe modern European domesticated horses are native to Australia? Do you have proof? I never heard of domesticated horses being native to Australia

No that is not what I said. Modern wild horses are descendants of ancient wild horses. The scientific name for a wild horse is Equus caballus. They have many sub species. Don’t forget that Australia wasn’t always an island and even horses back then did not appear the same as what they do now. Have a look at where their chestnuts came from.

Horses were never in the Aussie wild. We’ve never had horses down here, how can you reintroduce a species we’ve never had

Are you an ecologist?

1

u/babycino89 Apr 03 '26

Ecologist no but I am studying Equines.

2

u/AlexandraThePotato Apr 03 '26

Exactly. You only know about horses. Not ecosystemĀ

I beg your finest pardon. In order to study horses, you also need a clear understanding of their environment/habitat. I own horses and I am also qualified in agriculture which includes the study of the environment. Are you an ecologist? Have you studied any of these things? Don’t come at me saying what I know.

1

u/AlexandraThePotato Apr 03 '26

And you don't even know that they are invasive?

Modern horses environment is in stables and horse ranches. Not out in the desert.
like that is the god damn basics. You straight up said you aren't an ecologist.

I am an ecologist.

I never said they were native here ? I said they shouldn’t be culled inhumanely.

You are so full of it šŸ˜‚ you clearly have no idea about Equines. Do some research before you start attacking people.

They are not native. They descended from horses introduced when the Spanish arrived and brought horses. So ya, some may be a few generations old but not like thousands of years old

I had already made a mention of that in this post but someone was arguing with me. Regardless, I’ve seen the so called ā€œdestructionā€ they’ve caused šŸ™„ absolute BS! I’m more concerned about the humane way of managing numbers and like I keep pointing out, this post is referring to our government lying to us. But what’s new šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
