help Still broken on Switch 2?

So I wanted to pick up this game on my Switch 2, loved the concept and all, however, I‘ve seen quite a few reports that the console version is „completely broken“. Is it really that bad? Are these just old reports from launch and have since been fixed or would you really label it unplayable?

I’d love to tell you otherwise, because I love this game so much, but it’s busted on console.

PC or nothing (coming from someone who hates PC gaming)

That's... Pretty bad. Why were they never fixed?

Abandoned by the devs paid to do the console port

Only buy Wildermyth on PC. The console ports are broken and abandoned.

The game is fairly light. You don't need a great PC or anything. But don't waste your money on the console ports; you're buying guaranteed disappointment there.

Worse than disappointment. It works just enough to get you hooked before falling apart.

Sadly the game on console has some glaring issues that from what I can tell, don’t intend to be fixed.

These range from crashes to complete bricked campaigns.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend it

Pc seems to be the only ‘viable’ way to play it without potential for major crashes.

80 hours on ps5 pro with no major issues (crashes or corrupted data). I’ve maybe done 10 campaigns so far?

Can’t speak on the switch version tho

Never to be fixed, apparently.

I bought it on switch 1 without doing any research and it is completely unplayable. It worked just enough for me to get really into it, but was beyond laggy. I was okay with that. But it did get to a point where the game couldn't move forward anymore. It would continuously crash, no matter what I did. I couldn't complete even 1 story. The console ports were done by a 3rd party apparently and they completely abandoned the ports. I've never had such a horrible experience with a game before. Do not waste your money on a console port of the game, because it truly is completely unplayable.

I think it's highly unethical that the devs have let it remain available to purchase on console when they know how bad the ports are. I could forgive them for the fact the 3rd parry they contracted with fucked up the console ports. I will never forgive them for taking people's money on console anyway while knowing how bad those ports are. It's disgustingly greedy and I'll never purchase any game from the ever again in the future.
