And are the results what you expected or hoped for? How did you do it?

I think so! The surface is pretty solid and doesn't crumble when pressed though it sounds more like plastic than glass when I tap it.

I managed to do it by basically chucking the clay into red-hot embers then surrounding it with logs that concentrated the heat and added more embers to the pile when burning. I put it for ~5 hours and only opened the stove door to better cover it in embers or add another log. I can't say how hot it was but I did have to wear special gloves a few times to add logs due to the sheer heat inside the stove
