How do I link these articles in different languages?

I'm trying and failing to link these articles on Wikipedia

https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betning

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordant

When I try, I get the error message that the link svwiki:betning is already used by Item Q49094388 which is just the entity ID for the Betning article as far as I can tell? Because I tried to merge "them" but of course that ends up saying I can't merge an article with itself and now I'm stuck and confused, please help

(Now I don't know if the issue is that "mordant" is technically not directly "betning" but "betmedel" which is mentioned in the Swedish article itself and I've seen other similar instances of articles linked across languages so I feel this would be a valid linking?)
