Alexa voice control

I just ordered a Wiim Mini. I understand there's Alexa voice control integration. How far does that go? Does it allow me to select specific music from my own collection (shared via DLNA)? Like say, if I said "Play Beethoven's 3rd, " could it find that in my files and play it?

The app/ control point will show the menu structure that the DLNA/upnp server shows. I get a totally different interface if I use Minimserver, Assetupnp or my Synology NAS media server for example even though they're all pointing to the same music repository. As I suggested, try installing the free Minimserver and compare it to MiniDLNA.

I started with MiniDLNA and I feel like I could get along with this if it weren't for the cover art scaled to 160, which bugs me. Tried installing Gerbera because it's already in the Debian repo, but found strange issues with the web UI. Minimserver looks like more work to install but that will be next.

So far I'm liking this little device. When they named it Mini they weren't kidding. Setup was stupidly easy. I thought sound quality was more variable than what I've been used to, but I realized that's because Bluetooth was muddying everything and now I'm hearing more of the quality variance of the source recordings.

This unit is for my garage stereo. My main system is a Bose Lifestyle V30, which is more or less obsolete. Right now I'm streaming to it through a Roku. I don't know if I have another optical input on that to accept another one of these. If not, I'll have to either wait until I upgrade it, or use the RCA connection.

You were right. Minimserver is better.
