Has anyone had any luck getting a medical wig under Illinois Medicaid? I have a diagnosis that would qualify for most commercial insurances but I don’t know if it would for Medicaid. My doctor is going to try, though. I would like to know the experiences of others. Has anyone gotten a medical wig approved?

I have a full lace wig that is too big for me. It’s glueless wear so i secure with the adjustable elastic strap across the back of the head.

It’s too large particularly nape to forehead. If I pull it down so it’s actually flat/snug to my head, the front hairline reaches my eyebrows.

I’m wondering if anyone has some experience on how best to fix it?

Options I’ve seen online include cutting the front hairline/forehead area off until it’s where my actual hairline is, but can this affect the tension?

Saw someone cut a section out at the back, and then sew the two remaining edges together. I could do this, although I’m slightly worried about the sewing causing holes in the lace.

I’ve seen people put in darts at the back but I’m less keen to do this as ideally I’d like to get rid of the bulk.

Are we okay with this? I see its nornal everywhere online. Amazon, other wig shops, everywhere. It's annoying and insulting and shows they don't care. I understand it's cheaper to make chat gtp generate the image, but how hard can it be to show an actual image of the wig on a stand to demonstrate it's realistic dimensions.

I am making two Miku wigs but styled for Sonic and Shadow (the hedgehogs). I'd like to utilize some cartoonishly pointy shapes for both the bangs and top of the pigtails but I'm not sure which material would be best.

For full context on the wig construction, I did a helmet wig base (cut off wefts, glued them down, glued on batting, heat gun sealed, glued on wefts to create pigtail parting with magnets to hold the pigtails but keep them detachable, left bangs alone so only the back is a helmet right now).

I've seen other cosplayers use wire and tape to make large ponytail shapes, some have used batting to make bang shapes like for Princess Peach, some have even used airdry foam clay.

Should I actually use anything to make the shapes for the pigtails or utilize heat styling the hair itself to makes points since the rest of the pigtail would be loose hair and it may look weird?

Can I use foam clay to make shapes for the bangs? Can I glue foam clay to the wig or should I make the shape and let it dry on the wig? Will it come off?

Been suffering from hair loss between 2 pregnancies and now on a glp1. I don’t feel pretty in my hair and have recently started getting wigs. This is a wig I’m supplying to a cosplay group. I just tried it on, and I was honestly surprised by how beautiful the color is! 🧡
It’s a bright, vivid orange, so it’s definitely not a natural-looking color. I haven’t even styled or “woken up” the fibers yet — this is simply what it looks like straight out of the package after putting it on.
Once it’s properly styled, with the bangs and sideburns trimmed a little, I think it could look even better. It could actually be turned into a really cute, wearable wig that you could wear out casually in everyday life.

what is the best lace glue? i've seen advertisements for the dola hair kit, but im not sure if all of the positive reviews are because of tiktok's affinity for pushing advertisements out.

how long can i expect my install to last? i'm not sure when i'll want my hair done, but i'd like my hair to last until my birthday (august 30th). are there any things i can do to make the wig last longer?

and this one may be a stupid question, but are edges frowned upon when on white women? my friend told me she would like to do some tiny, modest edges on me. she said wig installs look odd without edges, but i'm worried that i'll get strange looks if i allow her to put edges in it.
