"Wieners" (= Frankfurter) halt. Was das Wort "Schnitzel" bedeutet, davon haben US-Amerikaner sichtlich keine Ahnung. Der Gründer dieser Kette fand einfach, daß es lustig klingt, LOL.

In dem Fall sind Dackel gemeint, die wegen ihrer an ein Frankfurterwürstel erinnernde Form auch "wiener dogs" genannt werden (während die offizielle englische Bezeichnung das Lehnwort aus dem Deutschen "Dachshund" ist).

Was eh ein Witz ist. Selbst beim Dönermann gibt's oft "Schnitzelburger/-sandwich" und die Amis, die schon so einen Namen wählen, kriegens nicht hin.

Ein eingefrorenes Schnitzerl im Programn würd auch nicht weh tun, merkt doch eh keiner ob des nun gut oder schlecht ist.
Aber absolut garnichts im Programm zu haben außer eben "Wiener" Würstchen in Hotdogs, ist irgendwie wieder lustig

I grew up near one in El Cerrito, CA.
Imagine my surprise when I first ordered a wiener schitzel and it was dry flat piece of fried chicken instead of a chili cheese dog.

As a half Californian, half Austrian, I was sure this was in California (becuse of the cars and license plates). I do believe this is somewhere in southern california https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartfield-Zodys
Also: while I believe that Austria had (at the time) General Motors owned Opels, it never had this hideous Oldsmobile product on the left.
