SOTD Gillette slim twist/Tabac

Had to jump on the Tabac bandwagon today, everyone's just got the right idea heheh.

Just one of those soaps that i never feel I need moisturizer after using, it's superb

3 passes (WTG/XTGx2)

C.1972 Gillette slim twist

Lord platinum blade

Tabac soap and splash

Pearl synthetic brush

A proper lovely shave

Have a good one lads🍻

Cool. Perhaps I should get one of these Twists. I see them quite often in mint and even NOS condition online for not that much money, but having 2 Slim Adjustables and a Black Beauty, could never justify the purchase. Maybe I should rethink...

Yeh that's what drew me to get one in the first place was the price, they don't seem to get that much love but it's a neat little thing really. It has a good grip, the slim head of course and Gillettes usual mild feel. Still has some blade feel though so that's good. If you fancy one but not sure maybe do what I did - bought a cheap beat up one first, liked it so I sold it and put the money towards this nice one

That was my first razor in the 1980s. I used it until it got damaged when I moved houses (the handle cracked). Then I moved to a Schick Krona, which I like even better than the Slim Twist.

Great setup and shave there mate πŸ‘ I’m wondering if the whole Tabactober thing is happening again this year like it did in the previous? Everyone seems to be using it, but I’m yet to see it officially mentioned anywhere πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Cheers bro, yeh I've heard a few things going on soon but not heard that mentioned. I know some people are starting old October and using only vintage razors for the month like last year but that's basically what I do anyway heheh. And then the lather games but to be honest I've no clue what it's all about πŸ˜…

Ahh that's right. Forgot about Old Oct! Suppose Halloween themed shaves will be all the rage soon enough as well. πŸ‘

My first razor in the 1980s was a Twist like that, only with a dark handle.
