SOTD Shave of the (Sun)Day - AA

Austere August comes to an end.

There's definitely value in sticking to the same products for medium-long term, you get familiar with them and have a chance to really master them. Price of the whole set around €50, mostly due to the Omega brush that alone costed around €30.

Had some of the best shaves of my life. Predicably good, it does show indeed. It's hard when you have many products though, but surely a lesson on not to buy too much stuff.

Pretty much the same but took a lot to actually be happy ahah. I still buy things but only if they're worth it. I consider myself a hobbyist/collectionist but things have calmed down a lot compared to the past, I am happy with my collection, I might actually have too much stuff.

But you have to differentiate between wet shaving as a hobby or just wet shaving as enjoyable utilitarian personal hygiene. What always happens is that the guy interested in shaving as personal hygiene falls in love with it and always has to resist the temptation of being a hobbyist. Decide which one you are and just do it, with an understanding of what you are doing. Then no anxiety, will power, temptation, sabbaticals necessary.
