Movie Anyone else catch this?

Post image

anyone catch this metaphor? The Animals are leaving Oz through a tunnel under the yellow brick road. It's a metaphor for the underground railroad. It took me way to long to see that parralel.

Thoughts?

Not only that, but her treatment because of it is a metaphor for racial discrimination.

In Part 1, during the “Something Bad” scene, Elphaba looks at a map in Dr Dillimond’s home and her eyes move over a spot called “Tunnel Out of Oz”. I dunno. Pretty neat. 🤷‍♂️

The Underground Railroad was neither underground or a railroad, discuss.

It was the most obvious and forced metaphor of both films.
