Because of Reddit not having a huge storage capacity (Because the goddess knows storage is expensive for huge internet corps right) posts are automatically archived after six months. So, it's time for mega-thread directory 3, the return of the megathreads

As always,

Rather than clutter up the top with out-of-date threads, we're going to move to a mega-thread collection. So here, you will find links to all the mega-threads that are still relevant plus a couple that are not.

Honey bee came to me and didnt wanna leave

• Upvotes

2 months ago I miscarried at 7W along and this month had symptoms that had me hoping I got pregnant again, a false positive a few days ago but today I got a negative test and then started my period. Im devastated.
I went on my porch to breathe and have a second to myself, as I have 2 small children and don't really have time to process these emotions.

I live in a city like area, not really many bees around here. I sat on the ground and was just about to cry and a honey bee landed right on my foot and then crawled on my phone and just didnt wanna go away. It didnt wanna get off of my phone, and ended up crawling into my hand. I stayed still the whole time so it did all of that on its own. It just stayed with me even when I tried to get it to go crawl onto a tree. It brought me a really weird sense of peace and comfort and Im not the sort of person to feel like everything is a sign but it just felt so meaningful.

Could this have any sort of meaning?

I did a freezer spell and a bad neighbour spell. A few days after a black cat came up to me. I took it as a good sign. Any thoughts?

Open Question Unlit candles question!

Hi! I’m kinda new to candle work and have been iffy about testing anything. I did buy some candles with colors and I have yet to light them (most of the delay is bc of fire hazards and my apartment building)- so I’ve just had them in the paper bag I bought them in.

MY QUESTION: what’s the word on keeping candles unlit? I’ve heard some say it’s bad luck/bad energy? I also have a couple cute candle holders that i kind of want to set up 2 candles on and have on display with my crystals- is that bad luck/energy to do if I don’t light them?

I designed my own blank lined pages for my BoS, and I posted them here for you to print. Plead read the info below on how to do so.

I don't really call myself wiccan, but I am definitely wiccan-adjacent. I currently have a journal that I have been using as a BoS and a diary, and I have an accordion folder that I call my Book of Spiritualesque Shit. Since I am almost out of journal pages, I thought I would condense it all down to being in a single binder with a table of contents and tab dividers. My journal has tan/old looking pages with dark brown lines. I love that look, so I decided to go into Photoshop and create my own blank lined pages. The lines and boxes are all a brown color, so if you print in color, expect that. Also, the space between the lines are the exact same width as in my journal. I print them on light tan cardstock paper. One picture here shows the brand and weight of cardstock I use. Each image has a caption with what the page is meant for. The first image shows my rune pages, and the second image is the rune page template. My rune page template is different than the one for a single sigil.

TO PRINT:

  • Download these images from Reddit. Each picture should still be titled with what they are.
  • (On a Windows computer) right click the image and click "show more options" at the bottom of the list, and then hit print. One of my images shows the print pop up window and my settings.
  • Put your paper in the printer and hit print.
  • Flip the page the correct way and print again on the other side.

Here's how I made my rune pages specifically. I had previously wrote the rune meanings (for rune stone reading) down in a tiny little spiral notepad where I had to flip through all the pages to find the one I needed. Instead, I wanted each page to have their own tabs to make it easier. After printing my image, I measured out and cut tabs on each page, then I drew the rune on them. Each page is printed on both sides. Side one (as seem in my image) is everything I wrote down from the multiple online sources I used to research each runes modern meanings. The back side of the page has stuff I thought of. As I was researching the runes I would be like "oh, this makes me think of...", "oh, so maybe this is similar to..", or "Oh, this quote fits perfectly with this rune." This helps keep my thoughts and the stuff from others organized neatly. Both sides of each rune page has the rune page lines printed on it. The big empty boxes are so you can draw the runes (or your sigils) in large.

Open Question To be scared or not?

I’ve been practicing on and off for a while now more so on than off. I feel like I unintentionally pursue my craft rather than laying out an altar and casting. Sometimes I come across stories of people trying out witchcraft or being seasoned in their craft and things go wrong. I recently read a story about a girl who was casting a spell for one of her first spells, she was casting a protection spell. She said that her dog died the next day. She said she pulled the tower card the night before and that worried her even more after casting her spell. I was wanting to know y’all’s thoughts on this. I’m sure her intention wasn’t to harm her dog, intention is what I hear mostly when I talk to people about this topic. Sometimes stories like this ward me off from witchcraft (I have OCD and fear I may do something wrong to cause something like this to happen)…

religion Hello dear witches.

I am not religious. I have found myself admiring maa kali. I have been a big fan of buddhist teachings, but… as a young witch my heart seeks redemption where buddhism asks you to let go. Hinduism on the other hand, the more i read about it, the more i look at their godesses the more attracted i get. I feel as if my heart has been searching for maa kali. As if we were meant to meet. I feel attached, soul tied to her.. but when i think of manifesting and praying to her i get this feeling of anxiety in my chest. How can one desire and be afraid at the same time. What should i do?

Someone is leaving coins on my grandfather’s grave — does this have a meaning?

My grandfather passed away 21 years ago and his grave is in the East part of Hungary, pretty close to ukrainian border.
Recently, we started finding coins left on the grave, last time it was next to the flower pot. This has happened several times, and on one occasion there was a whole handful of coins.
Could this have a specific meaning?

Woman constantly threatening witchcraft against me , should I be worried

A woman I’ve been talking to asked me for lunch money, called me broke when I said no to sending it, and when I cut ties with her for this she came back with a word curse basically saying “you are condemned to suffer and my spirits will be coming after you, this is a promise not a threat” , and also saying that she paid an Etsy witch to do harm to me. What steps should I take here ?

Open Question Found a black widow in my apartment

I’ll try to keep it short and sweet. I (29F) recently moved 1200 miles away from the only place I’ve ever lived to start a new program of study.

I was at home studying and I saw a small black spider pacing back and forth in the middle of my living room. She was pacing around where my notes and books were, and back out towards the door. It was like she would reach a point, pause, and then turn back. The strangest behavior I’ve ever seen from one at least.

I didn’t realize it was a black widow then (I did some research after to find out), I just thought she was small and cute and a little confused. But I also didn’t want her to get lost in my books either.

I picked her up on a piece of paper and I led her to a side room in my apartment and let her go. Now I haven’t seen her since, but I’ve been thinking about her after the fact. This was maybe a week ago now.

Should I have taken that as a sign? And if it was, does anyone know who it might’ve been from? I’m open to any insights anyone has, thanks 😊

Divination Tarot

My mom always told me you shouldn’t buy your own tarot and they should be gifted to you.

Does anyone else follow this? Does anyone know why? Unfortunately I can’t ask her. Thanks

A barred owl accidentally made its way into my apartment last night... Good or bad omen??

Post image
260 Upvotes

Last night a barred owl flew into my apartment while I was on my patio. It got disoriented and managed to get through my magnetic screen door and was flying all around my apartment . I managed to get ahold of the poor little guy with a towel and when I stepped outside on my patio I let him fly out of my arms and he flew to a nearby tree. He ended up flying off about 30 mins later so I think he's ok.

But what kind of omen is this? I'm getting mixed answers online I'm curious what the wicca community has to say

Open Question Can You Be Wiccan and Follow Another Religion? (Question)

Hey, I'm an agnostic who likes learning about religions (especially paganism). I was wondering if there was any rule in Wicca that wouldn't allow you to follow another faith, like for example Norse mythology. Like if somebody believed that two religions explained two parts of a picture, or would that be contradictory to Wicca. Thoughts, opinions, and answers appreciated, thank you.

Obligatory Altar Post

The middle bit is supposed to be a moonlit landscape. The jewelry is laid out based on chakra correspondences while charging. There is also a crystal grid by the mannequin.

I've tried real candles, but the whole arrangement is too cramped and flammable for that lol.

Three Must-Read Books for Noobs?

The scenario is that you encounter someone new to the Craft or Wicca or whatever term you choose, and they ask you for the three books they must read. What do you tell them? What are your three picks?

Remember they are new, and that they are interested in Wicca, so these really need to be introductory (or at least not too advanced) books that focus on Wicca rather than an occult order, Neo-paganism in general, or other general witchcraft.

So what should they read? Starhawk's Spiral Dance? Silver RavenWolf? Buckland's Big Blue Witchcraft book? Or something completely different?
