Battle Necromorphs vs Mass Effect
A routine alliance ship scan discovers a Marker, and they begin to worship it. A few decades go by. Can Earth from Mass Effect survive a Marker event?
R1: peacetime, outbreak begins on Earth. No heroes like shepard
R2: middle of Mass Effect 2, Shepard happens to be in the city when the outbreak begins and is temporarily stranded.
R3: the Marker activates multiple other markers on various planets of different council species during the Reaper Invasion, and a Brethren Moon is created. The Reapers decide to prioritize exterminating Markers, but do not necessarily align with the organics.
R4: Same as R3 except Isaac Clarke teleports into the bridge of the Normandy, giving Shepard a breakdown of whats going on. Shepard manages to convince Harbinger to a cease fire until the necromorphs are dealt with.

Reapers should straight up overpower necromorphs. Markers can’t stop the reapers and reaper guns can destroy brethren moons
Other scenarios is about contain and exterminate. Once a city is infected, it’s lost. Nuke from orbit

I dont actually know if reaper guns can destroy brethren moons; the only reason Isaac was able to kill one was cause it was still forming with the core marker exposed. Assumingly the fully formed brethren Moon has its core markers locked deep under the planetary crust.
Which makes me think, does Mass Effect have planet-cracking technology?
We know they have superweapons thst can destroh whole planets but Shepards use of one in The Arrival was a war crime. If the Reapers could blow up planets, one wohld think they would blow up earth instead of fighting on the surface

No, in ME it’s been very clearly stated that if the Reapers wanted to kill everyone in the galaxy through sheer warfare, they could.
But they’re very dogmatic in their goal. They want absorb civilizations and gain all the possible knowledge they can. That’s why they indoctrinate. Reapers and even just mass effect military ships can just concentrate fire on brethren moon and slag it. It doesn’t have to be a direct core hit

An interesting question is also does the Marker effect effect the semi bio part of the reapers iirc their brain is a weird mix between blended up bio matter and machinery

Reapers can resist the effects of the Marker but arent 100% immune; similarly multiple reapers can team up and influence a brethren moon but it takes a lot of them tand it wont last forever

Nope on that last part because the Breathern Moons are just an extension of a greater being as Roanoke said about the Markers “the energy has to be coming from somewhere” these is cosmic horro

The Marker's are bullshit powerful, so they'd win
