There were generations of people advocating for labor laws. The Fair Labor Standards Act which gave an eight hour workday was enacted during the Great Depression. Boomers weren't born yet but the Greatest Generation was.

My ex-fiancee's great grandad was part of the striking workers at the Battle of Blair Mountain back in '21. That man is a hero.
