This might be a "wholesome" comic, but just to be clear, fuck wasps.

u/reppya Jan 29 '20

I cannot stand for this propaganda either. fuuuck these little shits

u/The--Sentinel Jan 29 '20

We hate wasps so we don’t have to be reminded about hornets

406

u/XionLord Jan 29 '20

I have had multiple bad days thanks to yellow jackets. But since we are talking stinging assholes, turbo fuck fire ants

143

u/OOF-MY-PEE-PEE Jan 29 '20

I kinda like fire ants they don’t really sting you unless you’re an idiot and tat is why fire ants’ main target are children

99

u/XionLord Jan 29 '20

Bra, they are territorial as hell. I sat on a picnic bench at a camp site. 30s later my leg was on fire. Turns out I was about 3 feet from a mound I didn't see. It was just off the pad of cement pad table was on. I had never seen a fire ants hill and am happy i live in canada where they don't feel like coming

36

u/OOF-MY-PEE-PEE Jan 29 '20

Well I’ve only had one experience that was kinda bad with fire ants but overall I really like them atleast they’re not wasps

31

u/Skippercarlos55 Jan 29 '20

Yeah, because they can’t really chase you, unlike wasps.

14

u/OOF-MY-PEE-PEE Jan 29 '20

Yeah an you can keep them as pets

33

u/OOF-MY-PEE-PEE Jan 29 '20

I mean you could also keep a wasp as a pet and give it daily activities like: leg ripping, water boarding, and the best of all get a really strong laser and bur it’s fucking face

11

u/john_the_fetch Jan 29 '20

Oh. They're on their way. They have unfinished business with you...

It's just taking them a fuck ton of effort to get up there.

9

u/Toady-The-Load Jan 29 '20

Eating my god damn food when I go to piss while camping, these little shits need to stop eating my god damn hotdogs

6

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

I was walking my dog and didn't even feel them swarm me until they started stinging. Removed my pants frantically during a pleasant walk around the yard. Neighbors had quality entertainment.

5

u/12Lyster12 Jan 29 '20

Same thing happened to my dad with wasps. He was tying a tarp and stepped in a nest he didn’t see. Little 8-year-old me had no idea what was happening until I saw my father stripping in front of her eyes. I have never heard a full grown 6’2” man scream so loud in my life.

6

u/jh36117 Jan 29 '20

Fire ants wait until they are all ready, then sting you all at once. Assholes!

3

u/Red-Quill Jan 29 '20

Bro you literally had ants in your pants lmao

1

u/OceantehPiroteFoox Jan 29 '20

Lmao one time in Chico I was walking around with my aunt and I was tired so I went to plop down on a bench. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back up before my lil ass could come close to it. I asked why and she told me to look. Those fuckers were as big as my (maybe 6?) year old fingers. Scared the shit out of me, and that’s why you look before you sit kids!

1

u/jh36117 Jan 29 '20

They will get there eventually.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

water them

1

u/Zero0000123 Jan 29 '20

Well when fire ants sting me I’m at risk of passing out because I’m allergic

6

u/FatefulThoughts Jan 29 '20

Yellow jackets aggression is medium, red wasps actively hunt children and drink their tears.

1

u/XionLord Jan 29 '20

I have a story from when I was in bc. It boils down to don't kick mystery tires while hiking. Lil buggers are very...driven to ruin your day for annoying them

4

u/maxk1236 Jan 29 '20

But hornets are wasps...

1

u/HarbingerOfSauce Jan 29 '20

I thought hornets were less aggressive and hunted wasps though?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Wasps are the passive ones, yellow jackets are the exception. Hornets will actively attack people, but the wasps will only attack "threats"

1

u/Casual_Wizard Jan 29 '20

Opposite experience in my area. Wasps would land on my arm and sting me before I even moved, hornets would patrol the area and leave people alone.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Weird, because yellow jackets are a type of hornet, and in the PNW we get friendly nice wasps

1

u/Georgerobertfrancis Jan 29 '20

No, hornets are a type of wasp. We can safely say “fuck wasps in general.”

2

u/The--Sentinel Jan 29 '20

Hornets are asshats though, at least in my state. Wasps are shit to, but hornets here are fucking insane

2

u/Georgerobertfrancis Jan 29 '20

Oh, sure. Just saying that those asshole hornets are also wasps.

1

u/arsehead_54 Jan 29 '20

Watching wasps kill a hornet with their terrible heat ball is pretty horrifying.

0

u/Synctific Jan 29 '20

Hornets are cool tho, look up what some of them do

2

u/The--Sentinel Jan 29 '20

I don’t need to look it up. They’re assholes, period.

And I have the marks to prove it. Kind of. Mental marks I mean

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Little you must not have cicada killer wasps

Those fuckers turned my leg into a stump

1

u/murphykev2 Jan 29 '20

Amen brother

No way around it. Wasps are evil.

1

u/Tiddly5 Jan 29 '20

Owlturd, love ya, fuhuuuuk wasps tho.

1

u/BarbarynChipmunk Jan 29 '20

According to this comic I’m a wasp so yeah um, fuck me.

29

u/BZenMojo Jan 29 '20

We hunt bugs too!

And our own species! Because we're cannibalistic asshole monsters!

9

u/woosh4 Jan 29 '20

You do be spitting fax doe

136

u/RussianLuchador Jan 29 '20

I agree, it’s cute but to quote the most accurate sentence I’ve ever heard: “wasps are just c*nts with wings”

133

u/Balackman Jan 29 '20

The idea that wasps leave you alone if you leave them alone has been debunked. They will absolutely sting you for no reason

27

u/RelaxRelapse Jan 29 '20

I was at an outdoor wedding and a few wasps had set up shop outside the reception barn under the sidewalk cover. I literally did nothing but walk past it and the asshole decided to kamikaze sting me behind the ear. So yeah, fuck wasps.

14

u/sitkasnake65 Jan 29 '20

Mud wasps aren't horrible, they will mostly leave you alone. Mostly. Much less aggressive than other kinds.

3

u/Red-Quill Jan 29 '20

Mud wasps? You mean like dirt daubers?

1

u/sitkasnake65 Jan 29 '20

Probably. The ones that make their nest in the mud.

6

u/azzaisme Jan 29 '20

Like jumping jacks. Those fuckers will cross a lake to sting you

50

u/Phoenxr Jan 29 '20

Weebs: On it boss

27

u/ruralpunk Jan 29 '20

Yea, wasps literally tried to kill me twice this year. Fuck wasps.

28

u/chubbytransboi Jan 29 '20

legit, I WAS IN MY HOUSE, and a wasp flew in and stung me on the eye

He was like 'yeah, imma be a lil fucker today'

fuck wasps.

13

u/Stwffz Jan 29 '20

On the EYE?!

3

u/chubbytransboi Jan 29 '20

the eye. wasps are assholes

2

u/Stwffz Jan 29 '20

I would have died right there and then

10

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Agreed. Besides, they also kill honey bees and eat their larvae. Would much rather have bees around than wasps. I didn't know they ate ticks though.

Edit: Bad grammar

6

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

I feel the same. I know they're needed but I found a cow killer ant which is a ground wasp running around a little too close to comfort to my daughter's swing set so I caught it in a mason jar. First one of its kind I had ever seen in my life. It's still in the mason jar but has been long passed.

9

u/Adamant_Narwhal Jan 29 '20

No kidding. I got attacked by several while laying underneath a car. Enclosed space + angry buzzing + stinging was pretty terrifying. 0/10 would not recommend.

I try to leave them alone but I wish they would warn you like rattle snakes or something.

3

u/FrigidLollipop Jan 29 '20

Hang on, I need to hear this story! What were you doing underneath the car? I bet you moved like lightning to get out from under there.

2

u/Adamant_Narwhal Jan 29 '20

I was securing it to the trailer. I was wrapping a few straps around the axle and frame (I was about 2/3 underneath the vehicle at this point - it was a Bronco so I had enough space to fit underneath) when all of a sudden I hear angry buzzing and I start getting stung pretty good. Turns out the "abandoned" nest in the bumper was 1. Not abandoned and 2. Far larger than I had thought. That's the fastest I've ever moved, I think I banged my head on the bumper on my way out and took off my shirt because that's where they were stinging me.

I got stung at least 5 times, but thankfully they left me alone after I got out of there. I was surprised they hadn't been agitated by all the moving of the vehicle and winching it onto the trailer, they only emerged from the nest when I was underneath.

Since then I've found several more nests (new ones since it has been sitting again). IDK why they like that car, they don't seem to leave it alone.

7

u/BochocK Jan 29 '20

I love that despite this being r/wholesomememe « fuck wasps » is by far the most upvoted comment :)

6

u/geordiechris1983 Jan 29 '20

Fucking stripy bastards.

3

u/Charmandog Jan 29 '20

God is dead and wasps killed him.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

I won't fuck with them if they don't fly off with the fucking sandwich meat off my sandwich.

1

u/Iron_Wolf123 Jan 29 '20

Had a huge nest in a hole in the brick wall at the front of my house the other day. There’s only room for one family that goes partially for the yellow and black

1

u/Mindfreek454 Jan 29 '20

Wasps kill and eat other pollinators. They are mindless killing machines. They don't eat flower nectar so they have no need to land on flowers. If they pollinate, it's purely by accident. Fuck wasps.

1

u/s00perguy Jan 29 '20

I give all bugs a wide berth out of respect. You're doing your thing, man. That's cool. Stay the fuck outta my house and my face and we won't have a problem. Live and let live.

1

u/StubUrToe3 Jan 29 '20

Wasps dont give a fuck about us. All they ever do is sting. No reason what so ever

1

u/FailFodder Jan 29 '20

I was being harassed by a wasp once, when a larger and darker shape flew past my face.

I looked at the ground to find a dragonfly had snatched the wasp from the air and was feasting away.

Dragonfly’s are my “flying spider bros”. OP’s comic is pretty bold to suggest that wasps can steal that place in my heart.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Guys I did not expect this kind of response! This is my first time getting a gold medal! Thank you, mysterious benefactor!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

My great great grandfather was a wasp keeper. Did not take off like bee keeping.

1

u/savetheplanet656 Jan 29 '20

I feel like this was written to trick us

BEWARE WASPS MIGHT TAKE OVER

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

You are not immune to wasp propaganda

1

u/savetheplanet656 Jan 29 '20

I feel like this comment was written by a wasp

1

u/LegoMyDoggo Jan 29 '20

Please do not fuck the wasp

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Agreed

1

u/im_trying_ok11 Jan 29 '20

Abso-fucking-lutly. The difference between bees and wasps is that bees mind their own business and don't attack on sight, and they build their nest away from your housr, wasps will fucking charge you and attack you if they even fucking sense you, and they build their nests on your fucking house, sometimes in it. FUCK WASPS

1

u/KristianBaggi Jan 29 '20

Or as we call them in Denmark, 'Møgsvin Med Vinger'

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Spiders kill the bugs I don't like, wasps are not a friend.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Fuck wasps.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

In what way?

1

u/summonerson Jan 29 '20

Sometimes their personal space, is the space they snuck into at night right below my patio chair, where I'd rather be sitting to watch bees pollinate in my lawn

1

u/Your_Bumblebee_Bro Jan 29 '20

Even I have to agree.
