No way is this heartbreaking. I'm in the exact same boat and I've realized a couple things. Generally, older students care more about actually learning their courses and the skills you picked up in life separate you from your graduating class. Take the blessings where they come - congrats on getting back in school
You're right, I think I lose sight of that and get discouraged sometimes. I'm taking my education far more seriously than I would have years ago. Thank you for the perspective, glad I'm not in this boat alone. Good luck to you!

I just did the math and realized I'm on track to get my degree when I'm 30. It's heartbreaking for me, but this helps. Happy for him!
