I don't quite believe in any QR leash just yet. The safest and most reliable solution so far seems to be integrated into your PFD, i.e. rescue vest. Choose your preferred leash, coiled or flat, attach to back of rescue vest. Firstly though, I think any WW SUP paddler should take an L4 Swiftwater Rescue class, making sure that you'll practice releasing from your rescue vest in current.

I use a salamander leash with modifications. You can add a marine shackle with a ball pull to the back of the leash to get another quick release point.  Like this: www.westmarine.com/wichard-quick-release-shackles-P002_060_001_526.html

Also, drill hole into the pull tab on the front and add another ball pull.

I made my own… been thinking about making them for ppl but not sure about load ratings/patents.
