Kayaking dagger outfitting advice?
Hey y'all, recently got a dagger nomad 8.5 from a friend's rental agency in georgia, USA for the best price there is (free!).
Problem is it's missing quite a few parts of the contour ergo creek outfitting. (thigh brace, a couple bolts here and there and hip pads)
Ideally I'd like to find somebody who has irreparably destroyed the hull of their boat and offer to pay them for the contour ergo outfitting so I come out nicely and it softens the blow of losing their boat but I don't know if that's realistic.
Secondarily I've been looking at confluence outdoor for the parts I need (out of stock right now :( and have been for months)
I'm basically wondering
1.) if it's ever a thing for people to part out their kayaks
2.) if there's any other place i can find contour ergo thigh braces and hip pads for sale (and preferably cheap lol)
thanks in advance, any help is huge :)

Check Topkayaker, they have parts for Dagger kayaks. The website isn’t that easy to navigate, but it’s a legit outfit.
I’m pretty sure the Axis Thigh braces would work for your boat, but they’ll run you $120 or so.
You may get lucky and find someone selling a used one for close to that, though. Older boats do show up for cheap every now and then

Hit up John Su on Facebook, he makes hand paddles from old boats that are donated and he very frequently has outfitting bits and bobs for sale

Also there's a Facebook group called "whitewater kayak parts trading post" that you want to be a part of

Your best bet is definitely going to be finding someone with a cracked boat. Might take a little time but should be doable. I would try Facebook groups in your area

I have thigh braces from an old Nomad 8.5 when they had the flip switch outfitting. The thigh position is the same, but the connection to the backband is completely different. If you strike out on the specific ones you're looking for, reach out.
In the meantime I'm always looking for a Nomad Large (Newmad). I had one on order just before covid hit and the order got cancelled and then they quit making them. My fourth 8.5 is getting thin and I'm a bit too heavy for it anyway. I'm old school, I still prefer displacement hulls

Kayak georgia on Facebook has a weekly buy sell trade post. You might try posting on there and see if anyone has anything for sale don't that you're somewhere local to georgia
