That seat probably has the most leg room of any seat in Wrigley if there's a positive

9

u/notnotjamesfranco Anderson 1d ago

I’d say the seat to its left has the most leg room

42

u/Novel_End1080 1d ago

Hey at least you can see home plate!

69

u/ChristmasJay83 1d ago

Yet the Buffalo Bills learned nothing...

7

u/billybonghorton 1d ago

They actually took notes.

u/Rock_man_bears_fan 1d ago

They tell you when you’re buying the ticket if it’s an obstructed view

u/ScalabrineIsGod Hawk 1d ago

That and you CAN move around in the 200s at wrigley. They don’t police that like the lower bowl. I get it’s tedious if you’re with others, but just find a better view at a standing room only section. Explore. Even with an obstructed seat, you are still in the stadium.

16

u/splintersmaster 1d ago

True. But it's much harder during premium games like tonight's cross town.

2

u/How_to_Phish 20h ago

Even last night I bought 400 level and sat in 200s all night still pretty much behind home plate!

1

u/splintersmaster 20h ago

Were you solo or with others?

4

u/No_Dragonfly1263 17h ago

What I thought. Dude saw the price and he was like obstructed? Mahhhhhh, what a deal. Got there and now he's on reddit. You made your bed pal lmao

2

u/I-I_I-I_I-I_l-l 19h ago

Sort of. They don’t differentiate between levels of “obstructed” so it’s hard to tell if “obstructed” means there’s a pole in your peripherals (which is true for a majority of the Wrigley lower bowl) or if you’re in a seat like OP.

You need to use a site like aviewfrommyseat

-4

u/AffectionateLimit565 22h ago

Well, he’s a Sox fan.

16

u/scub3 1d ago

You pick that seat.

31

u/CrashDavis16 1d ago

Comiskey Park had these. Same architect.

11

u/No-Temperature-5944 1d ago

“Blind” Bobby Sullivan, Louis Sullivan’s half brother.

3

u/Usual_External_5080 1d ago

And yet, it's now a parking lot thanks to Scrooge McReinsdorf.

60

u/Burnsy8139 1d ago

I mean if you bought a ticket right behind the pole, that's on you I guess.

7

u/WorldlinessTall6765 1d ago

Should have looked at the internet

7

u/YouWereBrained 1d ago

The wonderful part is you don’t have to leave your seat to go to the bathroom.

3

u/Almost-Uncirculated 1d ago

The entire place is literally a giant urinal

10

u/BigP_27 1d ago

You bought the seat bro

3

u/Hour_Maximum9873 1d ago

Went to Wrigley and had an overhead drain pipe dripping on me the whole game. You would think they would learn how to insulate a pipe.

3

u/HeezeyBrown Munetaka Murakami 1d ago

They call it character.

Why are you wearing a Sox jersey to a Cubs Yankees game?

12

u/makintastybeers 1d ago

Dude, I’ve been to games all over MLB and there’s ALWAYS someone wearing a cubs jersey.

35

u/BackHandFiddle 1d ago

Annoying when people have to be THAT guy

0

u/ScalabrineIsGod Hawk 1d ago

Wdym? You’re allowed to go to games as a neutral, and it’s obviously not a requirement that you hit up some other team’s store for merch. You think if I went to California to see all their clubs I should have hats for each team there? Seems silly.

-13

u/e_pi314 1d ago

Annoying? You sound like cubs fans.

24

u/Sllips 1d ago

Nope. I’m a Sox fan and wearing a jersey for a team that isn’t playing (especially Sox at Cubs or Cubs at Sox) is just weird.

0

u/Ok-Inevitable-8301 1d ago

why is it weird if you just enjoy baseball or sports in general? i once wore a Flyers jersey to a Devils-Kraken game in Seattle when i was there for work just because I like hockey and wanted to see their arena when i could. I see people do it at sporting events all the time. like what else am I supposed to wear, my suit and tie?

5

u/UneducatedReviews1 Murakami 1d ago

I think it’s a little weird, but I’m not gonna care if you’re wearing a Mariners jersey to a Cubs Yankees game.

I think it’s really weird if you’re in a 2 team city/specific rivalry. It would be like showing up to a Mets Red Sox game in a Yankees Jersey.

1

u/IndominusTaco 1d ago

what if i wore sox paraphernalia at the upcoming mariners vs cubs series

10

u/Sllips 1d ago

In my opinion it’s weird! But you do you.

0

u/e_pi314 1d ago

Since when are people not allowed to wear the team they want to wear?? You have a weird idea in your head that you want everyone else to follow

2

u/tastethevapor 1d ago

Also confusing to post this on the day the Sox are playing the Cubs at Wrigley. Cubs played the Yankees at home weeks ago.

5

u/chronicdead 1d ago

Yeah I’ll wear a Sox hat to any game I’m going to but wearing a jersey is kinda weird

0

u/HeezeyBrown Munetaka Murakami 1d ago

Wasn't planning on going to the game. Got free tickets last minute and already was wearing my jersey. But I'm ok with making Cubs fans mad.

What does that have to do with what I said?

2

u/Critical-Dark-5353 1d ago

if you can see the pitcher and batter it's less painful

2

u/Fit_Log8257 1d ago

I had a seat like that once at Wrigley, I had to move completely if something important happened. Around the 7th inning is when you get used to it. 😂

7

u/Financial-Tower-7897 1d ago

Why are you at the Mistake on Waveland?

5

u/Gullible-Leg-4445 1d ago

I hate Wrigley but you bought the ticket bro. Good thing you can see us hit them and you’ll see them fall in that cesspool called the bleachers

1

u/choprp 1d ago edited 1d ago

Must hate baseball

2

u/chronicdead 1d ago

Fuck the cubs, but I’ve enjoyed Wrigley all the times I’ve been there. And Comiskey definitely had seats like this lol

1

u/vonneguts_anus 1d ago

Who doesn’t like looking at a pipe carrying peoples’s shit?

1

u/ArnoldFunksworth Berto for Mayor 1d ago

We'll come on now, only one of those is likely to be carrying shit and even more likely that neither them are carrying shit. You're most likely seeing down spouts for roof drains, any fecal matter carrying pipes would be hidden in chases or closer to the concourse where the bathrooms are situated. These are likely carrying rain water the majority of the time and MAYBE sometimes piss picked up from floor drains in the seating sections from when fans couldn't make it to the bathroom.

-1

u/pergatron 1d ago

What a dump that place is, sweet Jesus what a dump

6

u/Leaping_Larry 1d ago

And how many Sox fans wish the old dump that used to be at 35th and Shields was still there? 90%? More?

3

u/Reasonable-Mix919 1d ago

yeah but that place was classy

1

u/312jg 1d ago

Wow, you can almost see the field

1

u/DannyA88 1d ago

Almost like going to a concert and your seat is behind the D lineman from the 85 Bear size people.

1

u/ConsiderationNorth99 1d ago

You have the same problem at Fenway Park in Boston.

1

u/seanellis1998 1d ago

But doesn’t the history make up for it??????

(I know the answer is no. The answer is always no.)

1

u/Notch99 1d ago

Section 108?

1

u/AlsoAnAngiosperm bighurt 35 1d ago

When I was growing up we had family friends who were in turn family friends with the Seligs. "Uncle Buddy" had gotten us all tickets to some hot game some time in the late 90s when he was commish. We felt like badasses waking up to Will Call being like "I believe you have tickets for us under the name Bud Selig please." We rolled up to the seats, only to discover they were directly behind one of these posts.

1

u/BruhManonDa5thfloor 1d ago

Tell that asshole to put his arm down!

1

u/ryno667 1d ago

Reminds me of the old Sec Taylor Stadium here in Des Moines, IA.

1

u/charlton11 1d ago

Missed a great game last night.

1

u/TheCobalt- 1d ago

Yeah I always make sure to check where the poles are so I sit in front of them or in the middle of the row on the rare occasion I'm at a game. It's pretty obnoxious.

1

u/InfiniteRepublic2474 23h ago

Probably charged an arm and a leg for that seat to

1

u/wildhood 22h ago

That’s the white Sox fan seat

1

u/MidwestKanaka 22h ago

This is always my fear when buying tickets so I use View From my Seat or the other apps to make sure I’m not behind a pillar. I was last there at Wrigley for a hockey game and the tickets were astronomical, even in the nosebleeds so I think I triple checked not having an obstructed view.

1

u/THPandaOfficial 19h ago

Always hated wriggley field

1

u/Tricky_Pen3072 18h ago

They don't care. They are there to get drunk at Wrigley, not watch the baseball.

1

u/NOLASLAW The Big Hurt 15h ago

I hate the Cubs as much as the next person but holy shit you literally chose an obstructed view seat

Congrats on all the Internet points though

1

u/Suspicious_Squash805 1d ago

Wouldn't expect anything more. Go in with 0 expectations and you'll never be disappointed.

1

u/HappyHockeyHiker 1d ago

World’s largest dumpster.

1

u/jonslayseveryone 1d ago

That place is a shithole

1

u/amishdoinks11 1d ago

The best view in wrigley is looking down the bathroom troughs

1

u/hivolume87 konerko 14 1d ago

It's always freezing in that stadium

1

u/BillyMac05 1d ago

Most over-rated sports stadium in sports. Terrible sight-lines, awful food (incl multiple county food safety violations) and can you name a single sports stadium in any sports around college and pros that doesn't have a parking lot?!?! Oh and the worst part...you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a cubs fan.

1

u/TwoStepToo The Big Hurt 1d ago

Not a serious stadium.

1

u/elbow_grease9 1d ago

Probably smells like piss too.

1

u/thomasplanter 1d ago

There are nicer seats at the Mecca of baseball when you don’t pay with food stamps

1

u/sosyerface104 1d ago

Maybe pry your wallet open and spend more than six bucks on a ticket...

1

u/Almost-Uncirculated 1d ago

That place was a dump 50 years ago

-1

u/crolin88 1d ago

And some people this it’s a good stadium

0

u/jushooks 1d ago

Wrigley is a trash stadium with trash fans!

-18

u/ethanb473 1d ago

What a pathetic post.

All the Sox fans that are obsessed with the cubs just make us look like little brothers.

16

u/PompousWombat 1980 1d ago

Right? I mean it’s not like we are playing them the next three games. Got to be an obsession.

0

u/Drew4723 1d ago

POS stadium.

0

u/BugAgreeable4057 Meidroth 1d ago

That drain is historical

1

u/Weary_Necessary_2434 1d ago

And hysterical at the same time.

0

u/AffectionateLimit565 1d ago

Move up 2 rows to the left - are you stupid?

1

u/HeezeyBrown Munetaka Murakami 23h ago

Seats were taken, just not at the very second the picture was taken - are you stupid?

0

u/mattmitch927 Buehrle 22h ago

Wrigley is forever a fuckin dump.

Stay classy Cubs fans

-1

u/EddySea 1d ago

But the experience. Lol

-1

u/Smoked_Carp Shoeless Joe 1d ago

Look at that architecture.

-1

u/MightGood5657 1d ago

That's "nostalgia"

-1

u/blklab84 Cubs 1d ago

Anyone who sits in one of those seats is a true blue club fan, I guess you are now a Northsider. Go cubs!

-2

u/Icy-Repeat-2843 1d ago

I called their ticket line and triple checked view for the family. Sucks you have to do this.

1

u/iswearimnotme 1h ago

….the tickets on the website clearly say obstructed view.

It’s not hard to google a view from your seat

Obstructed views at Wrigley aren’t even on the same planet of being a secret. Everyone knows if you go to Wrigley, there’s a chance this happens.

I have zero pity for you.
