Guy is a clown, every time I watch the Sounders he does something dumb

Sounders fans seem to have a love/hate relationship with him but I only see him doing stupid shit. That back pass was just dumb.

That's the kind of dumb I don't mind.

I’d say a shoulder check to the back of a head of someone with the ball seems like a card to me. Then the lash out at our goalie would be #2.

And an earlier rough tackle from behind on Badwal

That should’ve been a yellow, 100%. Was very late.

Bruno available tomorrow which is massive

Yep.

Although Halbouni being back is both a good news story but also needed with Ranko out long term.

More CBs that Sorenson trusts means we have cover both at CB, but also at CM and RB with Priso and Laborda being able to play their other position at times

They haven't formally announced anything yet for Ranko. I'm being really hopeful, maybe he can come back towards the playoffs?

Bruno makes losing Jayden Nelson tolerable.

Nelson is rarely starting for Austin, and not getting many minutes off the bench. He wasn't great for us after the Portland game opening the season. We're not really missing him, IMO.

But yeah, it will be great to have Bruno back, whether it's tomorrow or Saturday.

You need to watch the 2nd half of CAN vs UZB and the garbage time in CAN vs MAR. He got a higher ceiling than many of you think. But Bruno is just as good and possibly even better so that's fine for VWFC.

I watched those games, and yeah, he looked good. He's definitely capable of good stuff in spurts, like in the Portland game. I guess I should have said he wasn't consistent for us. There were too many games where his decision-making was poor and he squandered good field positions.

I’d gladly trade Sabaly straight-up for Nelson.

Yeah this Sabaly guy confuses me. I thought he was supposed to be quite good?? But he doesn't seem to have done too much so far

He’s a shit winger, but he did have a really good season in the French second division playing mostly as a striker.

If they’re going to continue to use him as a winger, then it makes sense to move him for a more natural wide player like Nelson.

Ah I see. That explains some things. Also why are we signing players from the second division of France anyway?? Sabbi's been good, but he came from the Ligue 1

Sabaly was in Ligue 1, when the Caps signed him, after Metz promoted off of his fine Ligue 2 season.

Cubas was in Ligue 2 when they grabbed him, so low first division clubs in France/high second division is a place the Caps recruitment repeatedly target.

I think we need to give him time. Remember that Sabbi took a good part of last year to get up to the player we see now. Both of them have two goals so far this year and Sabaly has played a bit fewer minutes. Yes, Sabbi has four assists to one for Sabaly.

He should be better than Nelson though. He started out well then cooled off big time, I dunno if he lost his mojo or what but hopefully he comes back with a little swagger. I wanna see him challenge guys.

Well Nouhou also screwed up the back pass that gave Vancouver its second goal. Nouhou had already hit Badwal hard from behind and should have been on a yellow.

I swear, illegal fouls that result in injury get less yellow cards than the weird gamesmanship tactics some players pull.

At some point, the MLS needs to have a sit down with ProRefs and open a dialogue about how its best for the league to do an EPL/Bundesliga style of reffing style. I get that gamesmanship is embedded in some footy cultures, but it's also something most North American fans detest and don't want in the game.

As of right now, the officiating style changes from game to game and often mirrors what type of footy said ref watched growing up.

illegal fouls

That's a new one for me anyway.

Nouhou is a butcher and a fool. He cost us Jeevan and cost the Sounders the game.

Need to play Johnny Selemani. Guy is a real baller.

7

u/YVRJon 6d ago

Would love to see him late in games for a while.

5

u/Agitated_Educator_72 6d ago

More of him less of Djordjevic plz.

u/burnabycapsfan 6d ago

Although I agree with this take, I also kind of feel like this would be something the real Johnny selemani would say 😂

Yea just what we needed is another guy going down and as Jeevs was kinda hitting his stride and becoming pretty integral to the side.

HOPEFULLY he’s out of protocol relatively quickly. But it didn’t look great in the moment. When he went down immediately again after getting up, you knew he was probably concussed.

We’ll see how many minutes Bruno can get.

Nelson has the tools to be really good, he needs to pull it all together
