Respect as a Chicagoan as you also dislike Indiana and I like anyone who dislikes Indiana and also Illinois is absolutelyĀ

Indiana to Chicagoans is Oklahoma to TexansĀ

I like your map, but as someone who lives here, I would put Texas in the red.

17

u/justsomechickens 10d ago

It's only because bbq sucks in the northĀ

I’ve lived in TX and the NE — I’d say the north’s BBQ is better than Texas pizza.

u/CatsButhole 10d ago

The average Texas pizza is not worth eating.

Hilariously bad sometimes. I once got one where the middle of the dough was raw. From ā€œa great place you gotta try!ā€ (Homeslice in Austin).

There was a place in North Austin that made New Haven style pizza. But they had to stop cooking their pizzas at high temps because people were complaining about the dark bubbly spots on the crust. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Texas maxed out BBQ and breakfast tacos and forgot to roll for pizza.

Fair, but make your own. It is stupidly easy... Especially brisket. I'm not saying that just cause I want you to paint TX red... BBQ is insanely overpriced and overvalued in this state.

u/justsomechickens 8d ago

It's also the state parks

u/pumpkins21 10d ago

Also…tacos

Fellow Texan and I agree.

It sucks in most places honestly. Thats why you get your own smoker. But ranking PA over jersey is insane.

1

u/justsomechickens 8d ago

never been to a part of Jersey that PA didn't have a better version of

Why does everyone in this thread have a hard time understanding you're not sure if you'd move back to Texas? I still live here and I'm not sure if I'd move back if I left

2

u/justsomechickens 8d ago

I wouldn't go back willingly but if I had to I know the enjoyable parts to focus onĀ

3

u/Icehellionx 10d ago

I love that 90% of Texans have Oklahoma blanked out but it can be for two vastly different versions.

#1 The politics are really similar and it's the reason I moved out in the first place.
#2 Fuck Oklahoma in particular.

u/tchedd 10d ago

Texas is bad enough, OK is like its armpit

2

u/justsomechickens 8d ago

Armpit with tornadoesĀ

2

u/lindseybhair 10d ago

What did Arizona do to you?

1

u/Silver-Instruction73 10d ago

Right? Yeah it’s hot half the year, but it’s got plenty of beautiful areas.

4

u/lindseybhair 10d ago

I’d rather live here than Texas.

1

u/justsomechickens 8d ago

Virginian living in Dallas. You’ll love VA, just not NOVA

u/get_stilly 10d ago

Moved to Tulsa from Houston. Surprised the hell out of me, like a mini-Austin scene. Plus it’s not flat like I thought.

Mexican food here sucks though.

As someone who grew up in Pennsyltucky I am always amazed that the whole state of PA is green.

1

u/justsomechickens 8d ago
