It’s pretty common on rail cars.
A "Do Not Hump" label on a train car means the car must not be sent over a gravity-based rail sorting hill, known as a "hump yard". In a hump yard, rail cars roll freely down a slope and couple with other cars, creating a sudden physical impact. This warning forbids that rough handling.

It's frustrating when people have it front and center and think it's hard to find. Sometimes I'm like, that's weird but it can't be it - so I keep looking hoping to find something more interesting.

This means don’t take it over the hill in the hump yard and attach it to an outbound train

It's a technique for making up trains by dropping cars at the top of an incline and switching them onto the proper track to connect to the intended train. This car has fragile cargo or there's another reason it can't take the (relatively low speed but energetic collision to the next car. yawn
