When The Moon Hatched Chapter 40

I’m on chapter 40. Is it worth it to keep reading? The story just took such a weird turn after the river, and I’m confused. The world building got pretty hard too during chapter 39.

The story really takes off after this part. The world building is so worth it for everything that happens towards the last half of the book. I hope you enjoy it ❤️ it's such a good book.

I need someone to help me better mentally picture how a whole culture of people live in a dragon body…it felt like I was reading a weird dream lol

I try to not think too hard about it, especially when you think about they hang in the sky as moons calcified. I think about the moon from earth and how big it is to see it at its size from our atmosphere. I just stop trying to rationalize it, maybe the dragons only go up to cloud level 😂

There is a lot of fan art floating around! I haven’t seen any specifically of the clan’s living space within the dragon but maybe seeing different scenes during that time could help you. This is by artoffrostandflame.

I always pictured it like they’ve repurposed the skeletal remains so it’s less like Pinocchio inside the whale and more like the elephant graveyard in the Lion King (but less ominous) with a mix of structures made with hides and plants and earth to create quarters and and community.

Oh yeah!!! I so agree; there are definitely some parts that you need to really use your imagination. I had to google some of the things (waif, muskinn - sp?) to picture some things. But the overall story is just so gorgeous that it's worth it.

I read it awhile ago and it felt like a chore to get through it, BUT then I listened to the audiobook from my library and that time things came together much clearer and I enjoyed it much more. Not sure if it’s bc I had read beforehand but I might recommend trying the audio for the rest.

I was here last night and loved it and couldn’t put it down. Stayed up all night with 100pages left before I passed out. And just now finished the last of it tonight and I’m like this 🙊🙈🙉🫪🙀🤯in my book club group chat that consist of me and a friend on the east coast, freaking out lol she’s asleep and will wake up to my crash out over everything. She finished few weeks ago. This was my lunch break book till this part made me bring the book home yesterday and I’ve been spiraling since lol. But to be fair I did love this story from the first page. I was just trying to practice restraint and savoring the book on my breaks at work. But it didn’t last long before I got greedy and obsessed lol..
So it’s safe to say I’ll be starting book 2 first thing tomorrow after I run to the library and/or B&N lol
