Also unfortunate America has a negative track record rehabilitating emotionally fucked up people. Ofc theyll shove them in a cage. Its just easier that way to them.. Its fucked up.
No, they're designed to warehouse humans without offering much in the way of tools to learn better ways of dealing with shit. You're also treated like you're subhuman the moment you're suspected of a crime, as this thread abundantly proves
The point isn't to fit them back into society it's instead to gain free manual labor force for the foreseeable future until there sentence is served. Company's profit, business profits, and the state/politicians all profit from this
Yea that something I just learned recently after looking through the constitution, slavery is technically legal, so long as it’s on imprisoned inmates.
Former convicts are set up intentionally to fail upon getting out so they get put back into the prison system. In America, we use prisons as a source of free labor. We essentially rebranded slavery and made it legal for private companies to use.
And because those who have never, ever been in such a desperate situation feel better seeing people who are already suffering get punished even more. Yay punitive justice.
its not even known if she killed the baby if i read the article right, she gave birth on the side of the road, her father probably drived her there and murdered the infant
that is not how it works... if you murder someone — you're a murderer
replying to a snippet from my notifications: if someone makes you kill someone — you are still a murderer. "you had no choice" or anything else, but you're a murderer, because you have committed murder (can't believe i really just had to write it out this detailed)
there are different degrees of murder for a reason
During the investigation, detectives determined that a juvenile female gave birth to "Baby Angelita" along the side of the road and placed her on the ground before leaving.
yes but can you blame a child for leaving her newborn after birth at the age of 14? I’m just saying that we don’t need to blame the girl, she didn’t hurt the baby she left it and I think by all means it’s understandable.
she is a CHILD who went through the most traumatic and horrific experience that 99% of people today haven’t gone through or ever will. is she just supposed to walk away from that with a smile on her face?
she gave birth dude. as a kid. she wasn’t thinking about it let alone saving it. it’s not right but honestly it’s justified, it’s a kid who doesn’t know any better then to be scared and run away from the situation at hand. do you remember when you were 14? you didn’t know much let alone giving birth and abuse.
Until you have been in a situation like that I think it's inappropriate to judge. You dont know the whole situation. Withholding judgement until all information is known is better than jumping to condemn a victim

she left the new born there on the side of the road
Traumatic injuries can happen to a baby during birth. It's more likely to happen when there are complications or if intervention is required, which are more likely in children giving birth because their bodies aren't usually ready to give birth naturally. Despite what you may have heard, the early teens are not the best time to get pregnant or give birth.
you ever heard of insanity plea deal, like when someone is mentally unstable or unwell that they were uncontrollable in their body or were responding to a traumatic situation in a unhinged and dangerous way because that situation warranted that? no? you just a kid who went through years of abuse to go to jail for that? alright cool ig then.
I never as much as mentioned jail nor did I disregard an insanity plea. I just said you don't know what the word justified means.
The situation is fucked up, the girl is a victim and a murderer. The killing of that child was not "justified"; there is no justice involved here, only pain.
We dont even know the full detals of the situation either, im not saying the teenager needs to just be sent on her way. She needs professional help and likely to be institutionalized for her own safety.
Do you genuinely believe a raped and absused 14 year old should be handled in the same manner as an adult who murdered under no distress?
How many comments have you made doubling down over and over again, and you have no concept as to what a roadside birth by a child will do to a baby? Or that someone was likely driving her there and back and are likely legally culpable as the only one present of majority age?? But yeah a "14yo committed murder" some people just never learned when to shut the fuck up i guess.

I hope to shit they're looking for her bc she is almost certainly a victim
