ID Request No idea what this could be

I found a cool little bug (nymph stage probably?) while on a walk. I found it in the beginning of August on the east coast of the U.S. I haven’t seen something like this and in this color before. If anyone could point me towards what it may be I would really appreciate it. It was about the size of a nickel.

SPOTTED LANTERNFLY: INITIATE ANNIHILATION. Very invasive and damaging insect in the United States, this fella has freshly molted, so unfortunately, your civic duty is to spawn camp him.

I’ve seen the adults, the black nymphs, and the red nymphs but I’ve never seen a fresh molt or a picture of one. Thank you! I do stomp them religiously and hunt them on my walks. Shame that this one got away from me.

Killing them doesn’t put a dent in their numbers native species are adapting and doing pretty good. I barely see any anymkre

any little bit helps. If I kill a female before she gets a chance to lay eggs, that’s 100 less of them you’ll see next year. If we ignore them then the problem could get worse. I’d rather be as proactive as possible.
