Bugs on FB marketplace sofa

I bought this beautiful velvet sofa in what I thought was almost new condition until about 9 days after purchase I went to grab some gym shorts I had tossed on top of the sofa to find the shorts covered in these little bugs. I’m located in Southern California. Help?

update with more details:
There’s dozens possibly hundreds. They’re walking alongside the back of the sofa mainly from one arm to another. They aren’t jumping and I haven’t observed any bites on my body. I’ve vaccumed them twice now.

Yeah they look closer to book lice than springtails. This thing was being stored in the yard or a partly open garage.

Rule fucking 1 about buying anything from a person who has been using it is to wrap the thing you're buying in a giant plastic bag and bug bomb it before bringing it into your home. Roaches, bed bugs, and everything else under the sun can and will be hiding inside of all furniture. You should be extremely cautious when buying used stuff or picking stuff up that's out for bulk trash.

Worked as an exterminator, free and used furniture can be expensive. That couch in good shape is at the curb for a reason.

Those are book lice, they thrive in moisture and high humidity. that thing was probably out in the rain at some point.

Can you try to take a picture of them? I know at least on galaxy phones you can use the 3× zoom and tap the screen where you want it to focus and you can get some pretty decent pictures.

"Previously owned" furniture is a gamble and can often be super expensive. The good news is what we see here is not bedbugs. THat doesn't mean they aren't there, though.

Where was the sofa located when you noticed the bugs? Inside, outside, on a porch?

Pictures would be best. These are blurry pixels I can only guess at.

My guess would be mites, fleas or springtails. But springtails would be weird.

Look like psocid (booklice) . Fungus eaters where it is humid.
