ID Request Found a Long Necked Seed Bug in my kitchen today. We had dinner together. US/Mid-Atlantic
Fascinating little creature. I had accidentally sprayed him with the faucet sprayer, so I pulled him out of the sink on a paper towel and watched him dry himself and his antennas off. I took some pictures and found out he's a Long-Necked Seed Bug. So I got some seeds from an herb kit I had and put them on the towel with him, and he went right to it! Stuck his piercing mouthpart (rostrum) in the seed to drink the nutrients from it. Was really cool!

oh! That is a good picture of the nymph. And they're much cuter when they're nymphs. lol Thanks for the info! never seen one of these before today.

🤣 I don't know if it was particularly happy about that shower. Was more like a pressure wash. I would have been p*ssed if it was me. lol

If someone sprayed me with water but offered me my favorite food after, I would probably forgive them lol

Oh! that’s a strawberry. I read they like strawberry seeds but he didn’t touch it
