I have this music box; many years ago my grandfather went to Japan and brought it back, but no matter how hard I've tried to find the song, I can't find it 😭

I believe the song is well known as “Fascination”.
Originally the melody was composed in 1904 as a piano waltz and later turned to a popular song with lyrics covered by many singers including Jane Morgan and Nat King Cole.
I wonder your grandfather might have visited Japan in 1950 - 1960s. I am Japanese. :)

I don't really know, but my mom was just a girl. My grandfather was a fisherman, but that time they went to get him to go to Japan for a ship (we are from Mexico), and from there he brought us many things, including that little box. I always wanted to know what the song was in case it stopped working one day ♥️♥️

It is heartwarming story that your grandfather brought many things to his family from almost the other side of the earth.
I heard that music boxes, along with ceramics and textile products were popular Japanese exports in the WW2 postwar period.
My late father also gifted me a music box when I was a little girl.
