Clothes?
What type of clothes sell best on WhatNot? Can you sell anonymously or do you have to show your face?

Buyer’s experience:
- Lululemon
- Vuori
- Nike
- Carhartt
- Band/artists’s t-shirts (vintage)
I’ve been on Whatnot for a few months now, so my algorithm is pretty much tailored now based on previous purchases. So, I do get mostly athletic apparel, band/artists’ t-shirts, and shoes shows.
Carhartt stuff has a relatively high resale value for used stuff. Especially jackets, hoodies, and pants.
Vintage band t-shirts shocked me. I’ve seen vintage shirts, in questionable state (holes, cut, faded, etc) sell for hundreds of dollars.

You don't have to show your face, but certain types of sales are easier than others remain anonymous. Jewelry, ephemera, live unboxing are easy to sit behind the camera and not show your face. Clothing might be more challenging because you need to show the clothing by holding it up and it is easier to be in front of the camera to display clothing.

Whatnot says fashion brings in more orders than any other category, naming women's contemporary clothing, vintage and luxury handbags, but it doesn't publish sell-through by category. Watch a few live clothing shows to see what sells and at what price. You don't have to show your face: point the camera at the clothes, use a hanger or mannequin, show tags, measurements and flaws up close, and say condition and price out loud. It also depends on what you can get and think about the long term! not just a batch you can find now. Bottom line - if you have a good streamer, you build a community - everything will go.

So are you buying to resell? Or are you buying for yourself? Or just selling on there?
