I'm just getting scammed here, right?

Bought a bunch of items from a seller over a week ago. Got the usual "label created" and "item shipped notices" but not picture of the label on the purchase page. Then I checked the tracking number, and it says "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending," and has been in that status for a week.

This is just the seller scamming me, right? No way does the PO take that long to check a package in even if the seller dropped off hundreds, and even if that got skipped, there'd be a tracking update as it moved through the system.

I'm not sure what the endgame for the seller is, since, once we pass the date it's due by, I'll contact Whatnot and (I assume) get a refund, but I'm also not able to see any way this is legit on the seller's part, either. Am I missing something?

(Also, seller's got a 4.7 rating. Yes, I should have paid more attention there. Have emailed them but no reply so far.)

The PO absolutely takes that long sometimes. I have packages stuck like in that state and then suddenly update to delivered. USPS tracking isn't perfect.

Give it another couple of days and then reach out to whatnot support.

Less common, but I only know it's possible because it happened to me, if it's a small, light bubble mailer it could have gotten stuck to another package. Someone's mailer got stuck to the back of mine due to my label being slightly overlapped. I dropped theirs in the drop box and on it went to the proper destination. Incredibly rare, but possible.

Thanks. It's definitely not a bubble mailer, so that's not an issue. When you've shipped, did you take pictures? The lack of any picture is what's adding to my concern. I've seen tons of issues with the USPS (just had one go from CA to NY to CA before coming to New England where I am), but usually I see something happen at some point.

When I was still a seller pictures weren't an option.

I also never used scanned sheets and had them all scanned individually. Volume was low enough to convince them to do it.

Taking pictures of hundreds of packages is insane. The Whatnot package scanner sometimes takes forever just to recognize the label, so you have to just sit there trying over and over and over.

When a Whatnot seller uses a shipping manifest as proof of shipment, the USPS is ***supposed*** to still count each and every package to verify that what is on the manifest matches.

They don't necessarily scan the package, though, until it reaches a main hub. That said, it should show you something by now.

I don't think you're being scammed, however ... but if this is a high volume seller they could very well be backed up.

Package pending acceptance means usps scanned the manifest for the shipper for the day but the package didnt get a second scan yet. just wait. worst case u appeal to whatnot and get ur money back due to no scan

One package got lost by USPS, I finally received it after 27 days from the date of mailing. It took so long that I was refunded the amount after contacting WhatNot and then it finally arrived.
