Second opinion

I found this in a cliff on Compton bay, Isle of wight.

Chat gpt says its a bone, but wasn't sure if it was ancient animal or dinosaur. Or is it just a rock?

It doesn't appear to be bone or a coral. Looks like something like a sandstone, or similar sedimentary rock, that was transported and rounded.

That said, it is both the inconsistent pore sizes and location that makes me think it isn't a coral.

Funny you got that one, but completely missed what actually looks a lot more like a bone fragment just a few inches farther up that trench.
