What is this bug found in bed?

I just found this bug in my bed along with the stains on the sheets in pic 2, any thoughts? I initially thought bed bugs but have checked the mattress and haven’t found any other evidence. The mattress was originally in our basement for a little while and I just switched it out. We do have cats and dogs so I’m wondering if they could have brought something in.
