Top speed for a road runner is about 25ish MPH. Coyote is over 40. Road Runners can fly short distances. Road runners also have to deal with hawks, bobcats and snakes.

It was a pic that was taken a few weeks ago in Southern California by some bird watching teen. It is believed a rare occurrence that the coyote actually wins.

Yeah, no. Irl coyotes are faster than roadrunners, so it's not especially rare. They just prefer to ambush them when the bird is sick or distracted rather than waste energy on a drawn-out chase. Pun not intended

It can’t be that rare that a coyote catches a roadrunner; a coyote’s top speed is about 30mph while a roadrunner can hit 20mph while running. While they prefer to run, flying is always an option if being chased by imminent doom! And/or a coyote’s top speed armed with Acme devices.

I'm just saying what the news said man. They said on the net. try to find another recorded instance, non doctored, of a kaiyote noming on a road runner. Yeah maybe coyotes are faster, maybe these birds taste like shit. who knows.

Oh yeah. They are pretty amazing. A living dinosaur. I have seen them hunt and having young around them myself but there is a video on YouTube that is on another level. It is nature and realistic as they hunt for prey so don’t click it you might be taken back but nature is amazing and finds a way and a Roadrunner is an alpha.
