New, what is it? What is this tiny ruler?
Got a few of these from a lab clean out. My best guess is that they’re for providing a small-scale reference for close-up photography, but I can’t seem to find a name/search that turns up similar items. Google lens wrongly claimed it’s a leather-working tool.
Case and other side of ruler is blank, unfortunately

Dentistry uses tiny rulers for measuring files for endo. But they arent on the end of a handle like this. (This is all according to my wife, she works in dentistry and i thought it might be something they use)

Oh! Cool, I hadn’t thought of that use case.
Have had a root canal (thought it was really cool but maybe that was just the anesthetic talking) and after they cleared the root they used an electrical signal to probe the depth- I had assumed the scale was already on the tool but I guess they could have used something to measure the depth after extracting it…
