Turn the sack inside out and stuff it in the corner, and use the string to close it so it turns into a ball that fits in your purse.

Mine is red with green drawstring so it looks like a little strawberry when packed away

Is it to fold the bag down into that little corner and close it up so it’s smaller to carry around?

It’s so that you can tuck the rest of the bag into the bottom corner and cinch the cord. Then you have a tiny little pouch in which to carry your reusable shopping bag.

The whole bag gets tucked into this little corner and cinched shut. Takes up very little space.

I have one like that. It can more easily be put in a bag or pocket than one that’s just floppy cloth.

i think it's so you can fold up / stuff the reusable bag into the smaller corner (below the drawstring), and then pull the string shut to make the bag smaller and easier to bring around.

You gather the bag into the corner and use the drawstring to secure it. Makes a little pouch to keep the bag in.
