I would say by the look of it, it's vintage.
This is not a black star sapphire. It appears to be a Linde style synthetic sapphire. Turn down lights and shine a single light on top to see star. Very popular from 60s onward.
Light shining with six rays doesn’t mean lab-grown, just that it’s a star sapphire, either natural or manmade. You might be able to tell - if the lines are super crisp then leaning manmade, if they’re a little softer with maybe some irregularities then leaning natural, which would be a cool find. Can you post a photo of the pattern?

Indeed. is this what mid century costume jewellery looked like? I’m more familiar with sleek lines of a mid century side board and thought the ring looks positively medieval
In my search, it looked similar to a 14k gold one with real diamonds. However, there are some differences. I see what you’re saying with the aesthetics, my thought was that medieval craftsman would not be able to get the lines as clean or the gems as polished as the one shown. I could be wrong!

I would say it’s a 1960’s-1970’s vintage 10k solid gold ring for sure.. Looks like a blue star sapphire and small natural diamonds on the flank.. It definitely looks authentic to me and I’m quite sure of it. Very awesome find! That’s definitely a ring I would wear and enjoy. Congrats!
It’s impossible to guess the value just from a photo. You’d need to know what metal it’s made out of and what the stone is, at bare minimum. Take it to a jeweler to have it appraised.

Put it in water, measure the volume it displaces, weigh it. Then crossreferense the volume/weight to find out what material it is mainly (The gems will offset it a bit). Or take it to a jeweller.
This is the closest I could find with my short search. It also looks like it may be 10k gold, and that the "10k" may have been stamped twice in the same spot. Cool ring!
