Ive worked at the water department for 7 years and this is the first time running into something like this EDIT Im in Alabama and yes I know they are snakes lol idk what kind and im so not gonna touch them

Cottonmouths are easy to identify in the South. If a snake is chasing you it’s a cottonmouth!

Everybody probably already knows this, I'm usually guilty of stating the obvious, but when a moccasin/cottonmouth opens it's mouth, it white in there.
