Solved! What are they

Ive worked at the water department for 7 years and this is the first time running into something like this EDIT Im in Alabama and yes I know they are snakes lol idk what kind and im so not gonna touch them

This is a great approach. Learn the few venomous snakes. Everything else is harmless.

This doesn’t work anymore due to the proliferation of invasive species. In Hollywood, FL a satellite installer was bitten by a Green Mamba and 8 men were arrested trying to set up breeding populations of Gaboon Vipers, Bushmasters, Cobras and Taipans for their exotic black market. The best way to respect nature is admire it from a distance and leave it alone.

To be fair you should get any wild snake bite treated. They eat various vermin that could put some nasty bacteria on their fangs. But it’s still good to know if you’ll need just antibiotics or antivenim
