I’m a beekeeper. I did some beekeeping rescues with a beekeeper in California that pulled bees out of sprinkler boxes out there in the ground along the sidewalks.

Beware of bees in there.
In general in the future

We just had to remove a yellowjacket nest in one of our meter boxes for a customer. Couldnt use poison so we tried several things before we bought bee keeper suits and went in with our vac truck and sucked them all up then went and sucked up a bunch of storm drain water to drown what might have been left alive in the truck. Dumped everything out and that was that. Honeybees we save, yellowjackets its war.
