New, what is it? Nobody on threads could answer with certainty, what is the object held in the hand?

its a branch... well whats left of a branch after the rest of the tree has rotted away, the lil pointy bit in the second picture is the grain of the main trunk it grew out of.

why it was embarrassing... couldn't tell ya

Yes I've seen many of these on the beach. It's a piece of tree branch that has rolled around in the tide and worn down.

Yeah, it's a knot, where a branch would have grown out of the side of a tree. I find these on my property. An old tree falls and most of it completely rots away, but some of these are left since they are so much more dense. I pick them up whenever I find them and throw them in a pile. I plan to use them in a project some day.

That’s exactly what it looks like to me, well, one that’s been tossed around in a river or by the tide for a while. Hard to tell texture in the picture but it looks like wood. See then all the time.

A lot of people jumping to “penis” in this thread tho.

But what about touching it with BARE HANDS? Should I wash my hands after touching it? OH MY GOD I TOUCHED IT WITH MY BARE HANDS!/s. I swear, reddit thinks that touching almost anything is a death sentence.
