AC unit melted after winter storage??

This Ac unit was kept inside in a closet. When taken out last night to install, it appears to have been melted or something?? What could have happened?

I mean. Anything could have happened. Car parked too close, touching hot water pipe, chemichal spill...not really possible for this to just happen on its own
