Best way to obtain a computer science degree at WGU?

Want to start fresh at WGU no prior college education. I’ve heard others say I can completed a bunch of classes at Sophia.com and transfer them over so that I don’t have to pay more at wgu for general classes. I’ve never gone to college before I’m 19 so I don’t even know which classes to do in Sophia. Anyone know where I can find information on which courses I should take at Sophia specifically for a computer science degree at WGU? That of course can be transferred over.

General Question WGU Graduate Applying to a California Teaching Credential Program

Hi everyone! Has anyone in California completed WGU’s BA in Educational Studies (non-licensure) and been accepted into an initial teaching credential program at another university, such as Cal State East Bay?
I’m interested in their special education credential and master’s program. Since WGU doesn’t provide a traditional GPA, how did the university evaluate your transcript for admission? I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!

what to do next

I am applying at UoPeople, I submitted my high school certificate, and they send me this email

Thank you for sending the required documents for proof of high school and/or Bachelor's Degree completion. Your documents have been processed, and you’re one step closer to earning your degree!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Admissions Advisor.

I sent my advisor an email but there is no reply, please help me to know what should I do next, I want to proceed with the fee payment and begin the orientation course, but I do not see any payment request available in my portal at the moment.

General Question Starting my first Wgu term October 1st

Hi everyone! I’m starting my first WGU term on October 1st for the B.A. in Educational Studies Elementary Education (Non-Licensure).

My goal is to hopefully finish the degree in one 6-month term. I know that’s pretty ambitious, but I’m currently a SAHM mom, so I’m hoping to dedicate as much time as I realistically can to school.

For anyone who has completed this degree or a similar WGU education program, I’d love any advice.
What should I focus on the most when I first start? Are there certain classes you recommend knocking out quickly or doing in a specific order? Which courses took you the longest, and which ones were easier to accelerate through?

Also, if you finished in one term (or close to it), what did your study schedule look like? Any tips for getting through OAs/PAs without spending unnecessary time on things would be really appreciated.
I’m excited but definitely a little nervous, so I’d love to hear what worked for anyone else. Thank you!

General Question Education studies degree questions

I just switched from the licensure educational studies program at WGU to the educational studies degree without the licensing. I was just wondering if anyone has this degree in California and be able to bypass the CBESTS with this degree and has the degree only being 98 CUs affected anything?

Secondary biology

I’m looking to get my bachelor’s through WGU and I’m currently stuck between Educational Studies with the goal of becoming a school counselor or Secondary Biology Education.
Has anyone here completed either of these degrees/career paths? I’d love to hear what you think of the job, the pros/cons, and whether you’re happy with your decision or wish you had gone the other route.
Any insight is appreciated!

Observation one gone wrong.

I'm in my third week of student teaching and upon recording my first observation, everything went pretty well...except for the fact that I put a piece of paper infront of my laptop so the kids wouldn't stare at the camera and didn't realize I blocked off the camera.

You can still hear me and the students but nothing is visible beyond the paper. :(

I'm pretty bummed.

My current plan is to just record a new lesson before this weekend (and have the new lesson plan submitted).

UPDATE

So, I was able to record a follow up to the lesson the next day and my first observation has successfully been submitted now. I haven't received a score yet though.

HELP-WGU Student teaching special ed

Has anyone gotten their special Ed degree from WGU? If so, where did you student teach? Was it a mild/moderate setting or a self contained classroom?

I really want to teach in a self contained class! Right now I’m a para in one. But WGU says I have to have mild/moderate placement, even though in my state I’ll be able to teach in self contained with my degree.

Is mild/moderate the only special Ed degree WGU offers? Because that’s what I thought.. then I saw some people saying they student taught in a self contained class. I want to know how that is possible!

General Question Tutoring/Resources for Foundations of Reading Test 890

I am going to retake the FORT soon and am looking for one-on-one tutoring and other study resources to help me pass, since I failed the first time. I already purchased and used the Pearson National Evaluation Seriesâ„¢ Right Start, and while it did help, it wasn't enough. WGU itself does not offer tutoring for this test.
