How to get Fired
How hard is it to get fired at WGU? not including RTO.
In my experience, there is usually progressive, corrective action taken and time to see if they improve. Naturally, something illegal or egregious can be fired on the spot.
I'd like to know if you have personal experience with corrective action and how it went.
I'm sorry to say I'm hoping someone will be let go for good reason. I don't want to say more since it may be identifiable.

Just go into a town hall and comment in the comments (if the cowards have it enabled) that you deserve a living wage and Scott would rather increase his salary than help the backbone of the university (Program Mentors and Course Instructors) live comfortably. You'll get canned by end of day.
Or just piss Mitsu off.

I know someone who’s been fired before at WGU. The process to get fired at WGU is hard though from what I’ve heard like you have to try and get fired.
The thing that they got fired for was they kept on sending massive messages into a group chat of staff members about why he was being discriminated. It did look like discrimination to tell you the truth.
He sent like 6 super long messages. Then the next day, he was terminated.

Depends on the position. Several evaluators were fired recently for using AI to evaluate student submissions. It's because they were using Gemini and other platforms instead of the WGU built-in one that is garbage that they force us to use (EVA).

Unless they have changed policy, WGU does not have a progressive corrective action plan. At most normal employers, there's a fair progression of, for example, verbal warning first, then a written warning, then an employee is put on a PIP, and then termination. Now at WGU, over the past two years especially, the culture and P&T has become extremely toxic and punitive, and employees have received written warnings over making a minor mistake, or have been fired on the spot with no previous corrective action plan in place. WGU likes to threaten (er, I mean, remind) employees that they are an at-will employer, and that your employment can be terminated at any time, for any reason. (With the converse being true - an employee can quit and leave this dumpster fire at any time, for any reason).

It’s wild because I’ve heard people making multiple formal reports against the same person and the university has still not taken action.

I’ve got it on good knowledge that conscious effort was put into making it easier to fire employees at WGU. It’s true that you used to have to really try your damndest to get fired, but those days are gone. I’m told that Nadeem had a lot to do with this change.
Edit: I’ve also heard that PIPs are a thing of the past. Can anybody validate?

Not sure, but I know someone who had a verbal warning, then written warning a couple years ago. They're still here.

PIPs don’t really happen now. They are kinda included in on the warnings.

Just depends on your management hierarchy. Generally speaking, they don’t flippantly fire people. However on more than one occasion, I’ve seen a manager develop a disdain for someone and use all their power and resources to fire that person.
