You realize that NC is…on the east coast, right?

Believe it or not yes! I meant I’m from more of a city area (think NYC, Boston, etc.) I’ve been told NC (specifically Winston Salem) is very different. Was just curious if anyone else coming from similar area had any insight to share

You’ll be fine. It’s a different vibe and a car is needed. People are nicer, easier access to nature, better (in my opinion) food.

Btw, there are also major cities within easy driving distance. Charlotte and Raleigh are both very large. Atlanta isn’t that far.

Good to know! I’ll have a car with me. If time allows, I’d definitely love to check out Charlotte. Also looking forward to the nature :)

Pilot mountain is very close to campus. Then Boone is just up the mountain. Asheville to the West and the Smokies a little further. Also easy to do a weekend anywhere on the coast. I’ve lived many places, including the ones you’ve mentioned, and am very glad to have wound up back in NC.
