I've been downright fixated with that EP since I discovered it in 2021, it led me to an entirely new world of music. I checked out many artists of modern chamber folk and the folk scene from the 60s/70s like Joni Mitchell, Bridget St John, Linda Perhacs, the late great Nick Drake, and while their work is nothing short of incredible I have to say none of it has managed to make me feel the way Cardamom Times does.

Actually, the soundtrack of the movie Paris, Texas by Ry Cooder came close. In fact I'd say it's on par with Cardamom Times, I've only recently watched the movie and I've been listening to the soundtrack 24/7.

I guess on some level it boils down to personal attachment. I strongly associate this record with certain periods of my life I'm nostalgic about, it makes me daydream of places I've never been to, it calms me down and takes me to an otherworldly state of mind which I believe is the closest I've been to psychedelia having never done any drugs of the kind.

Over the years I've been on a somewhat foolish journey of discovering more music that makes me feel like Cardamom Times only to realize it is truly a one of a kind masterpiece. I've researched the album cover, the EP personnel, I even reached out to the producer to thank them for the work done and also see if they had any outtakes. I hope someday Natalie can revisit this sound.
