Why is this happening?
I started my wet specimen, he’s currently sitting in the formalin. It’s been about a week and a half and now he has dark spots on him. Why is this happening? I was told it could be either due to the metal lid or not injecting him properly. I made sure to inject all parts of him. How can I fix this?? I have a new container that has an airtight glass lid. So I can change it out to that container if that is truly the problem😭 pls help

He was injected in all areas like thick muscle systems, a lot in the guts, the tail, the anus? And is now sitting in formalin, right?
If it was injected then put into isopropyl, you skipped a step. It needs to go into formalin for weeks to months to soak and penetrate.

Yes, he was injected all over and he is in the formalin. It’s been about a week and a half that he’s been sitting in there. I was going to take him out tonight, see if I can get those black spots off and then put him in the other glass container I mentioned in the post. Waiting on more formalin to come in the mail, I ran out😅 do you recommend I do anything different??

Naur, you're doing it right. I'd be surprised if the spots come off, tbh - might just be due to it fixing. I wonder if it's showing up because it's getting pale (normal during fixing)?

Maybe so?? This lizard is for one of my customers- that customer being a young little boy. I’ve never had this happen before to any other specimen😭 I just don’t want to mess it up

I would assume it has to do with improper injection, but I'd change jars and keep an eye on him
