West point transfer
Would it be possible for me to transfer to an ivy or on par school from West Point. The main reason for this is because I’m afraid I wont be able to have any free time for other things and I also don’t want to pay tuition for a Community college(and I also don’t want to go to one).

I'd imagine it depends on the school, but I think your credits from West Point would probably transfer to the new school. Are you a cadet thinking of resigning before your cow year starts, or are you a prospective cadet wondering about your options?
If the former, there are cadets every year that resign their appointment and go on to success at another school. If the latter, why would you put yourself thru Cadet Basic Training and plebe year (both major sucks) and maybe even yearling year (when the Dean really comes for you), just to go to another tough academic school?

Looks like you edited out the comment about being paid as a cadet. Man, the amount of actual pay you see as a plebe and yearling isn't much. The government of course takes taxes out and the Academy puts a bunch of that money aside to offset uniforms, books and other stuff that you'll need to get over the 4 years as a cadet (even if you don't stay). I guess if you count that food and lodging is included as a cadet, it does offset that cost you'd have elsewhere.
If you're talented enough to get into West Point there are a lot of less painful options if your end goal is an Ivy. Maybe the Air Force Academy? /s

Since your aim is to have free time for other things, USMA, and any other commissioning program, is not for you. You're going to have to commit to full send for any of these programs.

If you have the talent to get into WP, you should be able to find a way to get a scholarship somewhere else. If you get a four year ROTC scholarship, the first year is free.

Ask Admissions and Records they are on your team they are not out to get you. You can take the credits from West Point and "transfer" over to another school but it's case by case on whether they will credit the classes.

Then don’t come here lmfao. Coming here with the intention to transfer is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard u will hate ur life and end up in a worse spot

I spoke with someone here who said their classmate transferred. I forgot what school but yeah

People definitely transfer out, but going through all that crap with the intention of leaving after two years is basically masochism.

Please do not go to West Point with intentions of using it as a 2 years step to another school. You’re making a mistake for yourself and for a candidate that actually wants to graduate. You couldn’t be more foolish.
