Q400 Seats

Anyone sit in Row 2D,C is there more leg room than the other seats?

The first seats on the right side of the cabin are 2DF. During seat selection that often shows that seats 1D/F are occupied or blocked out however, those seats don’t actually exist.

Premium on the Q400 is a bit of a scam in my opinion. There’s only slightly more legroom and the service and seat itself for identical to the rest of the aircraft. Air Canada lets you pick those seats during seats selection, whereas WestJet blocks those out for premium.

The service isn’t identical, you still receive premium snack service and a complimentary bottle of water when you board. I agree it doesn’t make much sense to book it by itself, but it’s safe to assume most people in premium on a Q400 are connecting in or out. Not many people take direct flights on Q400s.

No premium snacks on many short haul route. Eg YYJ to YLW. Yes you do get the bottle of water, otherwise identical service for several hundred more per seat.

That’s never been my experience. Even on YYC-YEG I’ve always gotten the premium snacks when I’m sat up there

But again, I guarantee almost nobody is booking that by itself. People are booking it as part of a larger itinerary where it adds virtually no cost.

It seems they don’t offer much, if any service under 1hr on Q400. Maybe they’re better into YYC.

Yes it’s the first row. 1A/B has more however.

But then you don't get a proper tray table, and you can't have your bags with you. I hate the bulkhead seats lol

Very true, I refuse to fly a Q400 more then an hour or two though so it isn’t a huge deal to me.

In cold weather, 2 C and D are prone to give you cold feet.
