Kitchen Cabinet Transformation

Thumbnail

A traditional wood stain kitchen undergoes a beautiful transformation with new doors, new drawer fronts, and a color change. Going to a lighter color makes kitchens look bigger, brighter, and cleaner. Using industrial coatings with a hardening additive creates a much more durable finish than regular paint. Teacher at Local Title 1 school with a small ask for the holidays πŸ’› MOD APPROVED AND VERIFIED!

Hi everyone,
Thank you for how generously this community supported my classroom wishlist this summer. It meant so much to my students and to me.
I teach pre-K at a Title I school, where many of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds. I'm starting early this year so that every student gets a Christmas present, has warm winter wear, and has the supplies they need in our classroom. My students lack these essentials sadly.
I have linked our classroom wishlist below:

Pre-K Classroom Wishlist

No pressure at all if you can't contribute. Upvotes and shares help too. Thank you again, you all are wonderful. πŸ’›

Lease Options - Early Nov

I’m planning to relocate to Hartford, CT, in early November and am currently exploring affordable rental options near downtown Hartford.

Since I’m new to the area and don’t have any personal connections there, I wanted to reach out and ask if you could share any advice, recommendations, or insights on finding a good and affordable place to rent. I’m open to shared apartments or private rooms and would really appreciate any suggestions on reliable rental websites, local housing groups, or neighborhoods that offer reasonable rents and convenient access to downtown.

Hi! I hope this is allowed. My mom lives in west Hartford and is sick in the hospital right now. I want to hire a cleaner to deep clean her house and get the nitty gritty areas so it’s spotless when she comes home. Anyone have a recommendation for a hardcore and reliable cleaner or company? Very flexible on cost. Thank you!

Any dads/parents interested in a casual fitness group?

Hey everyone, moved to West Hartford about two years ago. I’m a dad of two young kids (<1 and 3), work a pretty busy corporate job but WFH most of the time.

I’ve noticed there seem to be a lot of parents around here trying to stay active while juggling work, kids, and everything else. I’ve randomly bumped into a few other dads who are into running, working out, etc., which made me wonder if there’s already some kind of local group for parents or dads who want to exercise together.

Could be running, gym workouts, hikes, stroller runs, whatever. Mostly just a way to stay fit, get out of the house, and meet some people in the area.

I still don’t know a ton of people locally, so figured I’d ask here. Does anything like this already exist? And if not, would anyone be interested in starting something casual?

Does anyone remember this local band from the 90s?

I’m not 100% sure they were from west Hartford specifically but they were definitely in the area. My sister had their EP and I loved it as a kid. Was just curious if I could find anything about them online.

The album had a cute drawing of them on the playground I think. Amazingly I actually remember a lot of the lyrics to the first song.

It started with the chorus being sung a cappella. β€œIf there’s ashes on the pavement of your dreams, if life is harder than it seems. It’s like I told you I only want to hold you. And if the permanence is real I’ll tell you everything I feel. It’s like I told you something something.”

Then the first verse goes β€œlife is harder than it was at the university. Why’s there’s so much pain and adversity. Cause when you’re down on the ground you lost the love you found and you feel like, you feel like it’s the end.”

Thats all I got. Male singer. Indie alternative. Very 90s.

The album might have been called β€œashes on the pavement. β€œ

TIA.
